Many years ago there used to be a weekly Saturday night thread entitled "Tonight's Tipple" on the previous incarnations of this site, going back as far as 2005 as I remember. It was fun watching the conversation develop as the various tipples began to take effect, some right characters on here in those days.
Yorkshire Square Ale is an absolutely stunning brew. I love my US style IPA's, but this is traditional English brewing at its very best.
tha'll be moving down here to Wales soon fella... Penderyn is a great Whisky made in Wales... I lived over 12 years up in Scotland while in the R.A.F... R.A.F Kinloss... not more than a stones throw from the Spey Valley and some of the great Scottish distilleries... also due to my involvement with SCUBA in the forces went out to many of the outer Isles around Scotland... got to sample some wonderful whiskies... I can honestly say that Penderyn is easily a competitor to some of the better Scotch whiskeys.... and the Penderyn place is not too far from where I now live in the Vale of Glamorgan
Aye I like my single malts, but Penderyn is one of my favourites, regardless of it not being from north of the border. Funnily enough, I came across it by chance. Our lass bought it for me from a Yorkshire distillery near Filey. Their own stuff wasn't ready, so they were stocking other stuff. I also had a bottle from Norfolk of all places. My favourite overall is Ben Nevis though.
After valiantly holding out on a mixture of fresh cow's milk and the finest Peak District tap water until 20:40, I've finally sucummbed to the temptation of Kooliburra Shiraz Cabernet Reserve. About 4 quid from Dodworth Discount.
me and ghost used to end up daggers drawn on a regular basis, it was dark rum that strangled his pigeon. he was/is a great guy we used to go to the match together
The troopers a good beer. Get the Maiden on and enjoy! I will mostly be drinking whisky and bourbon. Dailuhaine, Tamnavulin, and Woodford reserve.
