    Not jumping on the love or hate Hecky debate . But Hecky + proper funding = success. Possibly. Cos some of the top managers wouldn't cope without Megabucks. But Hecky took Leeds from being play off candidates to also rans.

    Leeds fans hated him. He had started making excuses there, but he didn't have the fans ear like at Oakwell.

    Our lot are always ready to hear and believe anything against the club's hierarchy, it's always been the same, and hecky made good use of it.

    Nowhere to hide at Leeds. He inherited a good team that had been up amongst the playoff places, and failed in his job to get them going again.

    Pretty much the same group of players that are currently top of the championship, so he has been backed by virtue of having a good squad, and failed.

    Apart from the fact that it's now pretty much confirmed by everyone that the we operate in a baffling situation where the 'head coach' isn't responsible for identifying players I would still love to know where all the ******* money has been going

    Hecky said he wanted a "proper" recruitment team because he was doing transfer deals when he should have been coaching, the club did this for him.He also said live on Radio Sheffield that he chose what players were signed and if the club signed a player he didn't want "they would be wasting there money as I wouldn't play them".I think some people on this board are using there angst against Patrick Cryne (for whatever reason) when Paul clearly got his wishes met.
    By the way I've got no gripe with Hecky he will rightly go down in the clubs history for our Wembley achievements.He chose to leave and he should thank the club for giving him his big chance in management instead of making contradictory statements to what actually happened.

    Please could you explain why any manager would sell his first choice centre half and striker and not replace them, and replace his first choice full back with a pile of ***** loanee?

    It’s always surprising to me that Barnsley fans still do not have a clue how the Leeds and Sheffield clubs perceive Barnsley.
    As far as they are concerned we, us at Barnsley, are just low lives and inferior in every way.
