I'm not sure if it's right or wrong, but I wasn't aware that's how tickets were sold. I could undertstand it if there was demand from the home fans, but they average less than 8000 in a 15000 stadium, so it would make better sense to sell the tickets without any stipulations.
I'm 6ft3 mate and carrying a couple of extra pounds - most of the time I've been in that rickety old stand there's been plenty of empty seats to spread out into - with every seat gone its going to be tight to say the least! Thinking of joining the Donny Tyke 'club' for this one!
If that bloke from Fleetwood turns up with the big **** we'll all be standuppers cos we'll not be able to sitdarn us.
He does speak with forked tongue though. He said to start with that they made the decision based on our ticket sales last week, as they needed to make policing/stewarding plans. He later said that it was because we gave the impression we couldn't sell 2,200 plus. I can't imagine with the demand so far this season, that we ever said the latter.
Why? It’s a fact. The police do consider us a bigger risk. We have an awful reputation, not all deserved but that is the truth of it. Maybe if a few folk grew up a bit and held their ale a bit better we’d get a better reputation. But they won’t. Let’s not start getting sanctimonious and pretend our away following is perfectly behaved. There’s some prize knobs follow barnsley, and I don’t have much desire to be associated with them. Every away game I’ve been to I’ve seen or heard something ridiculous, often resulting in heavier policing and stewarding the next game(s) - with folk complaining about it as though they are surprised and disgusted at the unjustness. It was ever thus, and while some glorify the behaviours, or at least bury heads in the sand and ignore it, it will never change.
You make out like we're a hooligan club, we're not. Worse behaved fans than us can be found everywhere. We might have a few piss heads in our ranks but we're hardly millwall or even port vale or Grimsby. Why do we have an awful reputation? Due to the farce at port vale three years back? Can't recall many incidents recently. Our away following is nothing compared to a lot of clubs when it comes to misbehaving. Let's have some perspective.
Let limit Peterborough to 500 tickets and let’s see their chairman kick off about it he’s never forgiven us for sending Peterborough down those years ago
We can have all the perspective we like about ourselves. But those who make these assessments see us from their own perspective, and if they ever have to justify it they have plenty of material. Whether we like it or not.
Give them the exact same amount. At same prices not one ticket more. They won’t sell them out if they went on sale now until before the game.
You say that, but look at this from 2017. In terms of banning orders we we were right up there, and when you compare the ratio of bans per average gate, it doesn't make good reading. https://www-mirror-co-uk.cdn.amppro...castle-united-revealed-worst-behaved-11572581
If clubs have more police officers on duty matchday then more will be caught, fewer coppers fewer arrests. A breakdown of what offences they were banned for maybe more helpful too.
Its an accumalation of banning orders not a season total. In that youve got folk banned in 2013 onwards. Theres at least 20 which relate to the port vale game and be half a dozen after the leeds match the other season in the ponty. Take those out the equation...
