I think he is much improved this season. Whether he is a million pound player is another question, although you don't get a lot for a million these days. Stendel has been brought in to work with the players we have & get them playing a style of football. That includes underachievers last season like Mowatt, McGeehan and Thiam. McGeehan looks the one that isn't as yet responding. Mowatt is much improved too. Also young lads are getting a chance, like Victor & Brown. We need to have a bit of patience. Win that game in hand & things look better. I suspect with a lot of reds in the Peterbro end, we are going to give them a game on Setdi. His post match interview showed he was unimpressed that we took our foot off the gas, having gone in front early in the game to the team that are propping up the table.
I'm not sure if were UNDERACHIEVING or just UNLUCKY. Only missed one game and i've seen some great football, and then again we've been totally s h i t e. I personally would like to go 4, 3 ,3.
For any of our fans without a ticket for Saturday and thinking of travelling down to Peterborough to pay on the gate to get in the home end, please be aware the game has now been declared as all ticket.
I think the key factor against posh will be the consistency and tenaciousness of our closing down. If we give them time on the ball we'll get punished because I don't think we look that assured when teams are allowed to take us on. Having said that, I think we are one hard-working net finder away from having a good go for top spot. The stat that I'd look at for prospectives would be the chance to goal conversion rate.
Do we not give Hedges the credit that it was his first game back for a considerable time and I thought he grew into the game the longer it went on and to me looked like a run in the team down the left flank would give us the closest thing to Adam H I can see.
I thought he did ok yes and he deserves credit for his fitness levels. However, I still don't think that's enough to warrant a start. With regards to the Hammill thing, I'm one of the few on here who believed Hammill offered very little in the last two seasons. Excellent in league one yes, but that was over two years ago.
I mean tbf Pinnock gets turned multiple times every game, the highlights from last night showed he was all over in the first half. But he did recover it second half and played a lot better. I think Lindsay has to come back in.
Pinnock did have a poor 1st half he got caught ball watching abit but it's Jackson who gets turned inside our when their lad cut on on the right. Pinnock was much better 2nd he has been our best center back thus season without a doubt. I'd probley start lindsay before Jackson but it's upto DS
4-3-3 and go back to the same team/formation that started the season. Obviously swapping Bradshaw for someone and Fryers coming in at LB if DP is out. If DP is out for a while, I’d have Aidy White signed up on a short-term contract as a pay-as-you-play type arrangement.
Fryers injured again and DP still a doubt for the weekend according to today's presser. Would imagine Hedges or B Williams might start there. Aidy White not a bad shout but been out for so long it may take him a while to get back to match fitness. Know he started an U23 game recently but haven't heard anything since.
I`d keep Jackson in, seems like everyone write him off and wanting the guy who stood in the box watching a cross go sailing over him when he could have jumped and got a head on it to get back in the side. Yell all be grumbling he`s tinkering wit side too much sooin.
I wonder if at some point this season Stendel will try all three of our CBs in the same starting 11 all as CBs? There isn't a great deal difference skill wise between all three and if the situation called for it, I wouldn't be against it.
To say we are meant to have one of the best squads in the division. Daniel doesn't seem to have that many "strong" choices. I would say we have a large squad at the moment, but very fragile and nowhere near enough quality or passion. A huge lack of consistency.
Everybody loved Hume but he was a waste if a million pound which given transfer inflation was even more of a waste of money. Funny old world.
True. McGeehan cost us around a million didnt he. And he has been a massive failure so far. Still doesn't receive half the grief thiam gets.
