No just Manhattan - which we found very boring. Where are all the street cafes and pubs cos we didn’t find them ?!?! Times Square was probably the best place and thats only because 2 women were walking about with painted tops - ie tits out.
Brilliant Nudger. Couldn’t find any pubs in Manhattan? Lack of diversity? I know we can all have opinions as to whether we like places but stating things that beggar belief makes me doubt other stuff you post on here. Found New York boring? Maybe you should try a bird watching trip to India.
staid in the Millennium Broadway Hotel 20 yrds from the corner of times square w44th street I think in July nice place clean and you only sleep there so that's what counts couldn't tell you how much coz it woz part of a package holiday first time in new York and it was great so long as you put the miles in and have an agenda ie not just mooching around as for times square too busy the next time I go I will stay somewhere else, like Greenwich village that was full of bars n cafes where as times square is high end expensive mainly Irish bars n restraunts best pizza in the whole wide world Johns of Bleeker Street worth the trip alone
We recently stayed at The Wellington Hotel, 7th Ave/75th Street. Equidistant between Times Square and Central Park. Have you checked Expedia and similar? They all do deals at different times.
Thanks all, some interesting ones. We did look at the wellington. Did you like it mykie? It got a couple of iffy reviews but seemed to have a bit of character
It's hellishly expensive for certain things and very dirty. But crap? Amazing galleries, world class and diverse food, a micro brewery on every corner. Street food is cheap and excellent, as is the public transport, and Williamsburg is astoundingly cool.
At last someone who doesn’t just follow the hype. I believed all the hype once upon a time - and thought I was going to a taller bigger louder London. Really disappointing. I honestly don’t think it’s as good as some of our smaller cities e.g Leeds, Liverpool, Sheffield, Manchester. It’s not in the same league as London. But as I’ve said - you need to see it to make your own mind up.
