How times change - scoring 2 for U23s, when maybe 12 months ago he would have been in Wales squad V Spain...... Nowt against the lad, but unless things change, he’s not going to get in Millwall’s starting 11 anytime soon, which will stop him being in Wales squad. Although maybe with a newborn, his priorities have changed - which is fair enough.
Disagree. More money, and his fiancé/baby has more family support down there. Sometimes priorities change in life. Let’s not forget the squad had relegation clauses in their contracts too, so his wage would have been a lot less this season. He worked hard until the end, put a shift in, and seemed to act professional. More than we can say for other past strikers.... Also, I presume he has sell-on percentage too, so I’d like him to do well for chance of more money off him in future.
I care that people are obsessed with ex players... Let it go... When I create a thread about an ex player please let me know. You can have a pop then.
I suppose it’s a lesson for us,for Millwall, for managers and for players. Assuming he’s on more money, only the most deaf ear’d player with Toms experience would think he was going to get a first team place and bag a load of goals back in the championship. In the end he’s left a nailed on first team place helping us; to annoy Millwall fans and contribute nothing. Football is the loser and him and his agent have trousered a load of cash,
