I started this thread & the reason I did it is that due to my business losing money at the minute I can't get to the game, so I watched on Sky. Over 90 minutes Potts, McGeehan, Pinnock, Lindsay & Mowatt had better games. The lad was playing on the wing & gave away the penalty by not even bothering to cover. It is really easy to see. I've got a good idea how that may be viewed by Mr Stendel (he was taken off). I've never said he is rubbish, but he is an impact sub at best. Good luck George, you are clearly a lovely bloke, but you need to be a team player.

Taking a view of something ( if you do not do so constantly and irrationally) is not giving someone flak. My opinion of George is that he’s a talented player who can make a real difference ( on his day in L1). Less positively he seems to lack the fitness and to an extent the application to do this consistently either across games or during games. He still can develop the less positive side of his game under the right coach. Hopefully Daniel is that coach.

I was glad when we signed him and remain glad that we did certainly while we are in L1 he is a valuable squad member.

It says it all when you are blaming moncur for the pen. He's got 4 assists in the last two games he's started. Hardly an impact sub. And he was subbed after 83 mins... That to me in no way indicates DS was unhappy with his performance.

Think you hit the nail on the head. I don't believe there is any rationale behind some of the comments he has recieved following yesterday's performance.

You mentioned he’d not done anything when we were 3-1 up?

Thanks mate, it is f-ing heartbreaking at the minute. The lads who I go to the match with are the best, but they all have good jobs if I can afford to go to the match I feel a failure. Just trying to keep going, as 20 people rely on me for work, but I can't go on much longer. Some people on here lambast me for being a DJ & they can f-off.

    IN THE SECOND HALF. WTF.

Read all the stuff I've said about Moncur & try to get a balanced view. At the time it was obvious what was happening & may as well have been sat in the stand.

Loads of stuff with Google, GDPR, etc & we have also lost 12k on a contract due to someone going into administration. (I only make about 25k a year). I'm gigging all the time, never been busier, but making no money. Hopefully it will pick up. I reserve the right to slag off a player who plays for 44 minutes & gets MOTM, when I'm working my arse off for nothing. Right wingers on here slag me off for being a socialist, but I keep 20 folk in work.

When the challenge is made by young Ben for their penalty there are 9 Barnsley players in or near our box, yet you choose to single out one of them as the reason for the penalty decision. It was just a clumsy challenge by Ben, no need as their was sufficient cover by our defenders/midfielders, resulting in the pen. The challenge was made near to the touchline just inside the box. Do you really want your attacking Midfielder/Striker in that position? I certainly don't. The pen was down to a mistake by Ben - pure and simple. Stop with the hatred of George. Please try and encourage our players, especially the one who got the MoM, cheers.

    OK.

    Where do I start?

Well he was on the wing. Not striker or attacking midfielder. What game were you watching?

A winger needs to drop back & cover the defender. Apart from scoring a great goal, Brad Potts did that all day, helping out Cavare, who was not having a good game. The show pony did not. I've given him credit where due, but do you really think he'll be in the starting lineup next week? I'd say 30% chance & that is why he has either low fitness levels or just cannot be arsed. I trust Stendel, best manager for me since the first Wilson.

Which part of their were 9 Barnsley players in or near the box, but you choose to single 1 out don't you understand?

I was AT the game, so was watching from the stands - no need to get arsey.

What formation do YOU think we were playing, because it wasn't 4-4-2? Hence he wasn't cover for Williams. That surely is the job of the DMs, isn't it? - i.e. Mowatt/McGeehan

FFS. People are entitled to comment on players' performances. It's not the crime of the century. Just because someone feels a player hasn't had an amazing game doesn't mean he's any less of a fan than you.

JP singles out players on a regular basis who has impressed him, it's hardly nonstop whinging.

Correct, but this GM bashing is getting right on my t1ts, as totally unwarranted

People can have a go at George until the cows come home, but I feel there are 23 other managers in our league who would love to have him in their team , take no notice George , you"l do for me .

LOL. Fair enough, it's all opinions. And yes, it was the fact that Sky were going on about him so much in the first half that lead to my post, when predictably he went totally missing second half.

I agree re Walton. The lad really isn't ready as yet for first team football, but as we didn't sign a keeper in the summer we have little alternative. Weather conditions made it difficult for both keepers.

I might be making a sweeping generalisation here, but over the years, Barnsley fans tend to favour grafters over those who have talent and don't always display it. There are exceptions of course, but people who run up and down and put their foot in often get more leeway than a player who tries to create chances and attack the opponent.

We also have tendencies to criticise looking for perfection when we'll never ever get it in a football match.

We're seldom happy too, even when we should be. Sometimes , just once in a while, its nice to just smell the roses that are blooming, not just shovel more **** on them. And I think its that difference that commonly causes friction here. That then descends into raking stuff up from ages ago and it just seems petty.

Each to their own. But I prefer balance. Its ok to be happy. It's ok to highlight opportunity for improvement. Its ok to be a person who can be and do both.
