I don't get this nervous at the end of the game malarkey, so I've just sat and watched the whole game through again on sky. We were easily the best team in the first half and in the second, Luton made life more difficult for us, but apart from the fluke, they offered very little in the final third. We spend the 5 minutes injury time on the front foot and then by the corner flag. Commentator and Lee Hendie drooling over the super reds, and their manager admitting they weren't good enough to get anything from us. After watching the whole game again, I am even more pleased with the performance.
Yup, same for me. Other than the goal, how many saves did Luton actually force out of Walton in the second half? I though we managed the game out very well.
what you all need to get your heads around guy's is the fact the OP is Young Nudger..... need I say any more.
They didn’t force many at all. But that’s not my point. We absolutely battered them - but they managed to get a dodgy penalty and a really flucky goal. So that added to the tension that they would get another lucky goal. So the point being - we should have been well out of sight by half time - but the high number of attacks is not producing the goals that it should be. Because like I said - we are not quite clicking in attack. I haven’t seen the Peterborough match - but I’d guess that this was a far better reflection on goals converted in relation to the time spent in the opponents half.
I thought it was a reasonable post. There are bad decisions being made in the attacking third. We probably should take more out of some of the opportunities. Hopefully, this will come as the players become more experienced in the system. It's not doom and gloom but its a valid observation isn;'t it? If another poster had said the same I think the reaction would be different.
I’m saying we are just not quite there in attack. Bad decisions being made that once ironed out we will be flying.
You are aware that this is third tier football yeah? Every game at this level is littered with bad decisions. Nudge says stupid things disguised as legitimate posts that are designed to rile people up, the reaction is expected and warranted.
I think this style of play generates more attacking play and not every shot is going to come off. If we had Aguero and Salah then im sure we'd be winning 7 or 8 nil but we don't. We've got 26 goals from 12 games and I like how this is distributed across a number of players.
Wrong. If I think we are not clicking in attack - then I’ll say we are not clicking in attack. If I say I don’t rate New York and prefer Leeds -then I’ll say just that. No matter what the general consensus might be. Yes - I know I think differently to most and don’t follow trends - but believe me, that has its benefits and REWARDS.
Our potential first choice strike pairing werent even on the pitch though to be fair. We won without them.... which was nice.
Instead of bleating abart it all the time and trying to stop everyone from having an opinion - why don't you post your opinion. You might get a response and actually create a bit of debate. Unless you have zero interest in that of course. At least Nudger creates a bit of traffic on the board. That alone makes him a far better contributor than many on here.
Notice the more positive posts now Gally has intervened ? Like I said - it’s very reminiscent of play ground antics - all pile on.
I stick by my first comment- the first three paragraphs I thought were fine. The last is just a bit odd. Im sure pretty much every team in the English leagues would take three goals in any game. 4 goals the match before that, too. We only gave Luton a chance of snatching something due to mistakes at the back- I can't see how that can be seen as not failing to capitalise on chances up front. It's not like playing against 7 year olds on FIFA, and we aren't Man City. If we were scraping wins and scoring few goals i'd completely agree with what you had said. We need to be realistic. Saying that I still believe we will beat someone 6-0 at some point, just not every game.
Well I stoll think that when you've banged in 3 at home and (as you say) we're worrying about conceding a third goal then your problem is at the back not at the front. And that's regardless of whether you posted it, Gally or our dear old Liz herself
