I can understand and appreciate others may have been somewhat apprehensive after Luton pulled it back so late on in the match. All I'm saying is that I didn't feel that way.

I’m not referring to you in my other comments.

I don’t think ticket prices or Sky TV are the reasons we can’t get many fans in, I’d say it’s that a lot of potential fans in the area don’t support Barnsley.

Go & play 5 a side anywhere in Barnsley on a week night at Shaw Lane, Vida, Darton, wherever & look at how many Man Utd, Liverpool, Wednesday, Leeds, Chelsea, Arsenal & even a few Man City shirts there are.

I don’t know how you change people’s mentality into supporting their local side but there’s way too many that don’t in my opinion

Fair enough point I think about decision making in the final third, more so second half. Sometimes it comes down to not taking an extra touch and being confident to make a pass first time, or take the shot first time. First half we made the right decision more often than not.

But we'd still have the variable of the keeper maybe pulling off a save, or the defence blocking attempts on goal. Perhaps expectations of a goal fest every game are over the top, albeit we are playing some fabulous attacking football. My point being that in most games, we probably wouldn't have been out of site even with first choice strikers playing and faultless delivery?

Games where decision making is spot on are few and far between. As much as i want us to win every game, I'm not sure beating teams out of site every week is what I want to watch. I enjoyed yesterday's game - two good sides both playing to win - and having watched it again, I think we actually played better than what I thought we did on the day. The scoreline is slightly flattering to Luton, whilst we weren't as fluid in the second half, we controlled the game. I was expecting a long period of Luton pressure, but we actually managed the game well.

I'm not as convinced about the impact of the £10 tickets on the attendance. We were the only local side playing at home yesterday and may well have picked up some casual spectators who didn't have the other local sides to go and choose from. That said, they certainly got their money's worth.

I'm simply content to be watching us in the so-called ale-house league, playing attacking football, and entertaining me. It doesn't come off all the time in every game, but you can see the intent, and as at Peterborough, when it clicks, we are a joy to watch.

Give over Gally! We've created and missed chances all season long, as well as taking loads.

It's not a matter of who started the thread, although he does have form. It's just the need to detract from another winning performance that winds people up.

It's probably one post too many after yesterday's talking down of a good performance.

How does your attack click when you're playing a lone striker? You rely on the midfield to get up in support, and that's exactly what happened yesterday.

If we had the players to make the right decisions every time and we scored at every opportunity they'd all be off to the premier league in January.

I watched the league one highlights earlier today. Portsmouth were comfortably 2 0 up against Wimbledon and then scuffed a clearance, resulting in them conceding and inviting a bit of pressure.

It's just football. No one's perfect.

    True.

We never looked in any danger yesterday, other than the odd occasion when we got sloppy. But I think the way we play means that teams will get some chances against us too, and if I am being truly honest, I want to see competitive matches. It's great going to watch the reds knowing that we are going to attack and not be scared of losing the game. A good opponent could well win the game with a touch of brilliance, but only Barnsley can go out and win it for themselves. It's still early days, but part of me senses something special is happening.

Yeah, I'm really enjoying the football. As you say, it's brave, attacking stuff and were creating loads and will get caught from time to time, although yesterday was the most we've conceded in a while.

There's nowt wrong with always wanting more, but given the way the seasons going, it's maybe a bit unrealistic. I'd sooner we carried on in this way all season and blew everyone away at the end to take the title.

My opinion on being 3rd in the league and playing attacking football? Probably the same as 99% of Barnsley fans... Chuffed to bits.

I was nervous when they attacked us towards the end of the second half but I think a lot of that comes from the past when we've conceded late on. It's not necessarily a reflection of how we perform and probably clouds the reality.

If you get chance mate, watch the whole of the game again. You'll wonder what all the fuss was about.

Well the people I spoke to after the game would agree with you to a point - but most were nervous that we would give away another goal against the run of play - and that we need to make all these attacks actually count and put these teams to bed.

But that's football fan psyche. "If the worst can happen, it usually happens to us"

Fans of all clubs think that conceding late goals and being on the end of dodgy decisions is exclusive to them.

    The reality is different.

you're talking like we're a big club in the wrong division and we should be coasting every game.

If we had players that could put games to bed in the first 25 mins then they wouldn't be playing for us.

Reality really needs to kick in.

    Yep - yer right.
I think we have players, most players, that are are far too good for this league.
And so does most professional football pundits.

Surely though it's better from a tactical perspective to fix the problem - defensive mistakes - rather than just try and chuck more goals at it? It's unfair I think to expect our attack which is one of the highest scoring in the league to compensate. And we haven't really conceded that many to be fair. We are doing very well.
