I thought it was around those figures couldn't remember exact I think if we were to get back in the prem we would be able to give the north stand to home fans and the ground would be full every week.
I can't agree more...if it's not stamped on now some of our more reactionary bbs'ers will be coming on here suggesting that roasted hedgehog is a staple of their diet.
I agree with you entirely , regular fans will attend at Oakwell , away from home & big occasions ,however when our club does reach Wembley or the Millenium etc, then you will get local people who will go along for the occasion, but will still support the club on that day which to be honest I do not mind , its is far better to have a big following behind the team instead of our regular hardcore , it would be pretty embarrassing to turn up at Wembley with only 10, 000 supporters & you never know , one or two of the casuals just might get the bug .
Right mr Owen if Wembley know these are Leeds fans and can police them enough to section them off why couldn’t they do it in the top tier when Barnsley played Millwall
Because regardless of who had or had not invited Leeds to the party, wembley managed to police it adequately Roll back to us playing Millwall and the top tier was a nightmare My partner was in there with my daughter and partner and could sense what was happening yet no one did anything Smacks of double standards tbh
Does anyone have a picture of the away end that night they beat us 3-1? Sick of hearing they brought 5500 when they’ve barely ever had that at home against us
I doubt they've taken 5,500 anywhere other than Wembley. They've never taken that to us. I remember the last time we played them on a Tuesday night they brought around 1,200. Think they only just beat that the last time we played them on a Saturday.
My first job back in 1970 was in what was then the steel making area of Sheffield along Carlisle Street East. I was referred to as "pit lad".
I did a bit of looking to see if there was any proof. All i found was the total attendance, which was 12,478. I highly doubt there were just under 7,000 Barnsley fans. I guess that puts that matter to bed. Weird breeds those Donny lot.
I’ve seen the video on YouTube and while you never get a proper a view of the away end you can clearly see over half the stand is empty at the bottom. I have seen a picture of it before though but can’t remember where
That's a good point. I hear that "every home ticket was sold as a season ticket in the Premier League" often and it's not true. I had to sit in the upper tier of the West Stand(next to the t'old Spion Kop) as I were fairly late buying my season ticket for some reason, and there was always dozens of empty seats up there except when we played Man Utd and I think West Ham...
Someone must have a picture of the away end that night, I’ve seen one before but can’t remember if it was on here.
