Where has the idea of England games on terrestrial tv, available for everybody, gone? Anyway, for me I'll watch it on my phone, streamed for free, so f.uck'em, if it upsets them then tough titties.
In fairness, Sky make the offer and stump up the cash, but it’s the FA, etc that accept such offers that are surely the problem. They could re-invest it into grassroots football afterall, but we all know that won’t be the case.
You’re watching that rubbish? 0-0 draw, or 1-0 to Spain with very little excitement or good play. If only I could get the hours I’ve spent watching England friendlies back....
66million is the population of UK...there are only 12 million sky viewers in the UK... something wrong with this IMHO
Sky are the last people to blame. Blame TV channels like ITV and BBC for not offering enough and the FA for accepting the offer.
Err...BBC cannot advertise and rely on a relatively small licence fee. Independent FTA channels like ITV cannot charge subscription but SKY charge monthly subscription AND bombard the viewers with the cash cow adverts. Therefore NOT a level playing field.
Are you for real??? Couldn't care less about the match but it's not BBC or ITV's fault... likes of BT and Sky have huge financial muscle. No chance.
To be fair itv really are to blame as it was them who essentially started the Premier league in the first place with the plan being that they could achieve a TV monopoly of the big teams. They were just so poorly run (by Greg dyke) that they completely messed up and didn't even win the rights to the league they had started the formation of
You must be kidding ,Sky and their ilk just keep offering stupid money so no terrestrial company compete. IMHO all international games including cricketshould be available to the masses .
I do not think the masses of this nation will be in mourning, because a meaningless match is not on ITV or BBC , not everyone enjoys 90 minutes of torture .
Worse than that, the fa (or in this case uefa) decide on how they want to split the games up for TV viewing to maximise their income. They then put these packages up for sale at auction. All sky (and indeed the other channels) do then is essentially make a bid in an auction.
