Having read their forum, have you ever seen a more bitter and deluded set of fans (Wednesday aside)? The disallowed goal, albeit tight, was just about the right call. This other offside they’re crying about, the whistle only goes after we’ve cleared for a corner. Haven’t seen them mentioning the clear handball in their box at all.
My seat was level with the box. As soon as their player drew his foot back, my son said to me "he's offside Dad" and the Assistant raised his flag. Watched the game at night on Quest and they deemed it offside and I've just read the same in the report in the Mirror. What part of " it was offside " are the Luton fans and their Manager having in understanding that the Ref disallowed the effort because he was marginally offside.? They need to get over it, happens to the best of teams.
Am I right in thinking they got the penalty over the allotted 2 minutes added on at the end of the first half too? Could be wrong. Either way Lady Luck shone on them Saturday, both goals were gifted which made it look a tight game but before the penalty it was looking a 4/5 niller. Reading their forum before the game it was all talk of them having to pay £38 at Leeds next year and who they should keep when they go up so was hoping we’d give them a tonking.
Im not too sure what the rule is these days, is it the feet or the body that has to be in line? His body is clearly offside but either way it’s not a shocking decision, it’s very tight. I don’t think they can argue too much with how many 50/50’s the ref gave them over the course of the game.
http://www.thefa.com/football-rules-governance/lawsandrules/laws/football-11-11/law-11---offside In summary, it's the body position that counts, flailing arms and legs are ignored. The lad's upper body was ahead of the last defender, so he's offside. Simple as that. Whether it was close or not is irrelevant.
There you go then, no idea what they’re moaning about. Haven’t heard anyone but them that thinks it is onside.
Even Dermot Gallagher on Sky said it was offside. Theres something I never thought i'd see, Dermot siding with a decision for Barnsley.
I’ve just been watching it back and one thing I’ve noticed for their 2nd goal, Hylton clearly offside jumping up near Walton for the initial cross, could argue effecting play.
I’ll have whatever he’s drinking I thought his initial post was a wind up but as you read down he’s actually serious absolutely delusional. There not even in the top 10 in league one
I’ve had a few looks at their forum since last week seeing what their thoughts were pre and post match and I have honestly never came across a more deluded, jumped up set of fans in my time. You’d think they have promotion in the bag the way they’ve been talking.
A lot of fans from rival Clubs are quite rightly discussing us and predicting what could happen going forward. Shows they think we are a real threat. For our part, I hope we can remain focussed and literally just take each game as it comes. No risks, no wild predictions ,just simply keep our own counsel and let our football do the talking. With the players yet to return from International duty and injury added to what we put out on Saturday, I remain convinced that given a fair rub of the green, the avoidance of injury and/or suspensions to key players, unless we suffer a drastic change in form, we will definitely be up there challenging come the end of the season. https://www.readytogo.net/smb/threads/barnsley-bookies-favourites-for-the-league.1448620/
See that Luton Towns Collins is still whingeing in their local press that the offside decision to rule out his " goal" was purely "guesswork " on the part of the referee and his assistant. It's beyond me that they can't seem to accept that his effort was legitimately disallowed and that he " crabbed" a second anyway and they were beaten by a side that despite not being at full strength , were far superior to them on the day.
Yeh seen that, technically all officiating is guesswork as they don’t have the option of tv replays. Pretty good guesswork though seen as he got it correct.
First they make Tommy Robinson in contempt of court when he was in contempt of court. Then they rule out goals for offside when the bloke was offside. #saveourtown
