Not sure what everyone's plans are for Saturday but just a heads up... it appears that The Antianglican away pub near The Valley has shut down. Also, the Rose of Denmark just down the road is now home fans only. Not sure how many others are around there but might be worth delaying the journey to the ground.

Sorry didn't realise this had been covered on the 'Charlton' thread.

I'd say London Bridge area. So many pubs round there, some in and around Borough Market, Barrowboy and Banker, a Fullers on the bridge southside. The Rake is a real ale place (very small though) at the back of Borough market and Bunch o Grapes is just on the street below the Shard, a Youngs. Theres also the Mudlark a Nicholsons just at the back of Southwark cathedral. You can walk to the Thames through Hays galleria and you'll find the Horniman (very big space) and the other way, past Clink Museum, you'll find another decent sized place facing the Thames (can't recall what that's called).

Trains take about 17 minutes to Charlton on Southeastern and a 5-10 minute walk to the ground.

London Bridge will be policed heavily given its ‘millwall territory’ and recent history between the two respective clubs... And excuse for some overtime.

Otherwise I’d agree... cracking pubs on that list.

Nah. Bankside massively hipster these days. Southwark Tavern, Wheatsheaf, Market Porter, all fine. As long as you don't start acting like a bellend, obviously.

Blackheath, Woolwich, Greenwich, plenty of areas to drink near Charlton

There will be modest police at the station as always on a Saturday, London Bridge area will be full of people going about their weekends. Borough market gets a lot of footfall every weekend, I've rarely seen many football fans round there. Maybe Leeds once, but little police there.

London met doesn't work like that. Arsenal don't even have police at their games, they steward them themselves.
