I agree entirely, as I sit here in my leather shoes eating a ham sandwich. There really isn't any difference.
Not sure I totally agree with that. Cattle and pigs for example probably wouldn’t exist if they weren’t for Human ( eating) consumption. Leather is a by product of that. Creatures killed just for vanity purposes is very wrong.
So the objection is not to killing per se, but to killing animals that are seen as more "natural"? BTW the vast majority of fur is from animals that are farmed just like the vast majority of meat.
I'm not eating my shoes or my leather belt or my leather jacket. Belt and shoes could be described as practical I suppose, although there are definitely man-made alternatives, but leather jacket is pretty much vanity all the way.
