And we are reminded of that fact when reading this weeks Chronicle. To say he had a team sold from under him ...... he put a great replacement team together. A team that he says is better than the one that was sold. Top top manager IMO.
I’m discussing what’s in this weeks Chronicle. As always - current and on the money. Whatever that means?
I'm sure such a great "coach" will be employed by someone soon, once the sackings in League 1 kick in properly.
Someone wants to remind hecky about how much money he wasted anall and turned Bradshaw from a goal scorer to a jack Russell chasing a ball all day. Moncur from attacking midfielder with14 goals to a reserve out on loan within two months. Pinnock ar centre back couldn't get a kick till December and let's not mention Cole kpekawa at all. Oh and whoever saw out in ugbo must have a white stick.
In a recent thread Nudger you posted this 2) During the 2017 summer transfer window Hecky was excluded from having input in the appointment of new players. We can assume that the CEO was excluding him. Heckys comments on Radio Sheffield reinforces that fact eg when Hecky said about recruitment ‘those involved need to get a move on because we need more players’. The recruitment by the CEO resulted in an extremely unbalanced squad. Shed load of midfielders were recruited with very few experienced strikers and wingers. I warned about this. But got the usual comments - including the 5 goalkeepers comment So according to you it's not his team. Make your mind up mate. Are you actually praising GG here then?
Bradshaw - was never a target man. But Hecky had Winnall sold against his wishes. And McBurnie deal failed - by whom ??? Moncur has still not achieved his potential. Pinnock is now one of the best centre backs in this division. kpekawa and Ugbo have real potential but unfortunately it didn’t happen for them at Barnsley. If they get their act together you might hear about these players again. But whatever is said ........ although there was pressure on Hecky from within the club - he put a good set of players together over a couple of months. I like Stendel and think he will do really well. But i still think it was a massive mistake to push Hecky out of the club. But we move on.
I’m sure GeeGee didn’t know who the hell Pinnock or Lindsay was etc etc. These players MUST have been identified before GeeGee stepped into the building. But yes - when he did step into the building, according to Hecky his time there was numbered.
GG was appointed late May 2017. The ex coach was bellyaching in December and January 2017 to the end of the season and welcomed the support he would get from GG after his appointment.
This is what happens when a troll gets caught out by being contradictory. Be interesting to see what he says to this..
It'll be blinkers on & fingers-in-ears time again. That's his MO - throw something out there, get challenged and proven wrong, ignore the thread.
Of course he did. As he said at the time - at times he was answering the telephone when he should have been taking training. But little did he know re: the appointment. It has to be said: We all thought (or the majority of us did) that we had the perfect partnership - wealthy owners coupled with a young exciting manager who was a Barnsley man and a Barnsley fan.
If you also remember in his more recent interview, he said he knew he was leaving a year before he did. That would date his dissatisfaction at November 2017. And have nothing to do with GG or the new owners.
