    Why?

Do people really think it's helpful or funny?

It's been said that woodrow for example is desperate to play. How do you think he feels reading some of the comments on here?

The Isgrove abuse is ridiculous, also.

I don't think people are taking the piss out of Woodrow, they're taking the piss out of whoever has been the latest spokesperson to tell us he's 2 weeks away from fitness (well, not even that, more like the whole thing). How do I think he feels? I can't speak for him, but I can try to imagine myself in the same position. It would make me smile. It must be frustrating not being fit. Not so much reading jokes.

With Woodrow it's the rolling two weeks return to fitness target the club keep giving us that we're taking the piss out of, not the player. In regards to Isgrove there opinions that we should cut our losses and get rid which is a valid opinion, is it not?

People aren't taking the piss out of Isgrove. It's the other way round.

What's on the agenda for him today? Bit of expensive clothes shopping and a Nando's? Same as every other Satdi.

Maybe I'm being too forgiving on the club, but I take that as he keeps hitting injury setbacks. I can't imagine how difficult it must be to keep getting knocked down, then have people take the piss out of that online with comments like 'we've signed a pup'.

Not really, when it's not possible...

There's no such thing as 'cutting our losses', we'd have to pay the contract up. Why not just keep him?

Shame on him for deciding to get injured. Should be taken out and shot.

    He's 26 in January and he's played 60 league games. It's pathetic.

Bit extreme to shoot him but he should be dismissed on capability grounds like people in the real world on 10% of his salary.

You genuinely believe that he's faking injury so that he doesn't have to work don't you. It's the only explanation for all these personal insults and thinly veiled accusations.

Nope. I don't believe he is physically capable of being a professional footballer. His body is not up to it.

So why do you say that he is taking the piss if you accept it is a physical problem that he can do nothing about?
Why ask what he's doing today in a disparaging manner suggesting that he's out shopping spending loads of money?

I know footballers have a privileged job and earn a fortune but isgrove plays for Barnsley not Barcelona. He signed as a risk so won't be on big wages. I would imagine he's bricking it knowing that if this doesn't work out he's done in football and doesn't have a trade to fall back on but will need to get a job to pay the bills for the next 60 or 70 years. I doubt very much that he's loving life at the moment or taking the piss

Isgrove will be in the top 1% of earners this country in a job he is incapable of doing. Hes taken good money at Southampton and put very little back. He is now doing the same at Oakwell. You are right though about him enjoying life. I bet he's stressed to **** knowing that he's only guaranteed eighteen more months of this wage. He should try and get signed off for stress.

If he doesn't have trade he could consider getting one. Let's face it he's got plenty of spare time.

Back in the real world some people get zero sick pay and have to stand a week before they can claim SSP. Poor Lloyd though.

It might be nicer, both in terms of respect to the player and in terms of how others view your subsequent posts, simply to state that Isgrove's contract should not be renewed.

    Just a thought.

It's write off, by the way.

I have no idea what the club intend to do with Isgrove, I don't know if there is anything we can do before his contract expires. I like Isgrove, I believe he has a lot to offer but I'm also aware of his shocking injury record and I don't think he is going to ever be a player that is capable of playing for sustained periods without injury. If we can pay his contract up and look to bring another player in then that is exactly what I would do.

Does paying up his contract and sending him on his way have a benefit in allowing us to bring in another player?

In order to pay up a fixed term contract you have to pay the salary for the remainder of the contract. So it will save us nothing at all, yet we lose the ability to have Lloyd play for us if and when he's ready.

Like I said I don't know what options we have or what terms of severance we could offer.

Aye. I would hate for us to miss out ten possible starts.

I notice last year he made his first league appearance on 28th October. Maybe he just likes chilling art in august, September and October.

And what if he isn't ready for the rest of the season? His injury record is terrible so I'm not too optimistic.

What do we gain by paying up his whole wage in one lump sum now rather than paying him monthly for the rest of his contract? Also, if he leaves we can't play him, if we keep him he may be able to get fit and step in. I just don't see the benefit to paying him off.
