    Absolutely disgusting.

And it ends with the victim being moved and the racist lovely person being allowed to stay in his seat! He should have been kicked off and arrested. Throw away the key. No place for people like him.

The poor woman was on holiday to try and take her mind off the anniversary of her husband's death.

Saw this on a news site earlier today and was disgusted that he was allowed to stay on the plane. If I had been on that plane I would have complained loudly and persistently that he should have been kicked off and the police called. Unbelievable that some people think that is acceptable in 2018.

    I’m not disgusted.
Obviously the fella has got problems and should have been dealt with in that way.

Just had a pilot on the radio giving an insight into why the bloke wasn't kicked off the plane and arrested. I didn't agree with the reasoning but it made some sense. Interesting that only one passenger tried to intervene.

The bloke who filmed the incident has just been on the radio too. I'm still not sure why instead of intervening himself his first reaction was to get his mobile phone out and film it.

This woman was let down by the airline and by other passengers.

What did the pilot say? Was it by any chance because the flight would have missed its slot?

Yes it was along those lines. He said getting the guy off, getting his bags off, etc, would have caused a delay that could have been lengthy and could have caused passengers to miss connecting flights.

Having watched it I agree that the guy seems to have mental issues but he could just be an angry racist. Either way he was the aggressor and the woman the victim and he should have been treated as such. His language and tone is appalling.

So they are saying that as long as someone's behaviour is not deemed to be prejudicial to the safety of the flight then people can get away with any socially unacceptable behaviour cos its more important that the plane isn't delayed. I think that says a lot about the society we live in.

I for one would have tolerated a delay without quibble to see the natural justice done of seeing that bloke arrested and thrown off. To have flown back home on the same flight as him knowing he had pretty much got away with it would have proper boiled my piss.

I think that if the flight isn't at risk they sometimes decide to continue the flight and arrange for the passenger to be arrested at the gate when the flight lands. From what I've read the flight crew didn't arrange for this which is why there's been a bit of an uproar

It's a shame they couldnt just open the door and throw. The least he deserves. As for his bags, it can get a bit cold on a plane, maybe they could do with a bit of a fire.

it wasn't an official statement from the airline, just a pilot giving a theory on why he wasn't thrown off. I agree with you and wouldn't have objected personally but I reckon there would have been a significant number of passengers who would have kicked off and demanded compensation.

I'm just as angry with the rest of the passengers. Only one person tried to step in. I think that says a lot about the society we live in.

Having watched it, I wouldn't be surprised if the male has some form of learning difficulty. In fact I'd be more surprised if he hasn't. Horrible for the lady and her daughter to experience in any case.

I'm not keen on these types of witch hunts. There are better ways to deal with it. Ryanair didn't deal with it very well, though.

I realise it may simply be a poor choice of words, but could I just say that I've met lots of people with learning difficulties and would definitely not expect them to behave in this manner. Far more likely to be a deranged racist...

In a weird way, in today's society filming these events is often the best kind of evidence. We've seen many examples of prosecution through video evidence on mobile phones.

I do agree though, why no one else intervened is very worrying. Had it been a black person kicking off against an old white bloke, I'm sure there would have plenty steaming in.
