Walk to Wentworth through the woods (ok, we've crossed the border).
    Views of Wentworth from Hoyland.

Elsecar Park, used to be taken there by my Nan and grandad when I was young - about 35-40 years ago, I now take my little girl and my parents take her too. A cracking park with great memories through our family generations.

Sat outside the Cherry Tree at High Hoyland with a pint on a clear summer's day.

I also miss the view at dusk from my childhood home in Brierley when I could see Emley Moor and Holme Moss masts on the horizon, and the cooling tower and pit headgear at Grimethorpe Colliery.

Sat outside the Strafford Arms at Stainborough, with my family, enjoying my pint of bitter, on a Summer's evening, creates utter bliss for me.:)

Wow, that just brought back a memory! Every single year we used to go on a school trip to Worsbrough Mill and Wigfield Farm from Milefield Primary. It was alright the first time or two but it would have been nice to go somewhere else for a change. I can still see it as clear as day.

They had a pig there that they used to pretend was called ‘Miley’ after our school. Everyone else in the class was adamant that it really was called that and that they didn’t make up a new name for every school and show us a different pig each year. I fell out with the place after that, I hated it when people took me for an idiot. Can you tell it’s scarred me for life? Haha

The view from the rocks on top of the old Cortonwood muck heap is one of my favourites. Can see Thurnscoe and Houghton in one direction, and Wombwell towards Elsecar in the other.

I still walk from Brampton Road in Wombwell along the canal either to the footbridge me and my dad walked over as he went to work at Cortonwood Pit many moons ago. Or onto the Elephant and Castle. Loads of wildlife and the canal is riven with fish.

Saw a kingfisher on there only 2-3 weeks ago, as well as the usual waterfowl.

When I lived on Foley Ave there was a snicket leading to Hough Lane. I had a clear view from my bedroom straight over through Hemingfield to Hoober Stand. It always seemed too far to get to untill I set off one morning with some potted meat sarnies a d a bottle of Tizer. I got there but it still seemed like I had walked out of the county. Need to do it one more time and live the memories.
