I'd never touch anything from that hypocritical **** Dyson (not ours!) Championed Brexit, then based his carplant in the far East for easier and more favourable access to the EU . What a lovely person.

I had a Gtec one but not the latest version, I really liked it and the carpets looked brill, but it was no good for me. I have a long haired border collie who sheds pretty much constantly from April to October. I had to keep clearing the sides of the rollers of trapped pet hair, bit of a design fault I guess but I told them about it. Would definitely go for it again if they have sorted that issue out.

Got a Gtech but it's the upright one so no good for car, didn't bother with the handheld one as I had the hand held Dyson, which on performance is superb. I don't get on my moral brexit high horse about buying things, I buy what I need. I mean where would you stop? People singling out Dyson for basing some of his factories abroad, so what he still pays a massive amount in tax in this country. Do we start boycotting everything, don't go to morrisons because they have assets based abroad, ASDA because they are part of the bigger US chain, Aldi because they are German..People seem selectively blind and just jump on the bandwagon with these daft boycotts..

Anyway rant over, bought one of those VAX hoovers where the cylinder splits from the main body to create a hand held vac for car etc, still corded but the power is superb. Literally takes the carpet up and not seen the hamster for ages after the vacuum hit max power and started sucking all elements of the universe inward like a black hole... Proper good a tell thi.

I think people get on their "moral Brexit high horse" because someone who very vocally championed Brexit (on the basis of keeping our manufacturing/heavy industry and more British companies employing more British people), has decided to go and throw £200m+ into a car plant in the far east...because he's not confident that we can negotiate good trade deals after Brexit. It's laughable really.

I don't think the anti-Dyson feelings are misplaced or unwarranted.

Could say the same about all these people continually trying to prevent Brexit, they are doing far worse damage to the country. If people showed faith in what we can actually achieve as a nation not just an EU puppet, Brexit would have been done n dusted by now, maybe setting the right economic climate for the likes of Dyson to base that manufacturing plant here!

Better to be a puppet in the show than one thats been discarded and rotting away in a box somewhere...

Short-term, Brexit will be an absolute shambles. Long-term, who knows, but it winds me up to think that my 2 boys will grow up in a country where isolationist ideals are rewarded and working with your neighbours for a greater good is frowned upon.

As a nation we can achieve great things, but we can also do that while still being part of EU, no one is stopping us! We've built two amazing Aircraft Carriers, we're lead partners in the biggest and most advanced defence project in the world (F-35), we're at the forefront of some incredible science, our banking sector is huge and our Universities are some of the best in the world..... All while we've been in the EU!

The only thing stopping us from being a truly great nation is the people running it.

We use a corded Dyson vac on our upstairs carpets and can't fault it to be fair
We use the G Tech Air Ram downstairs and the hand held Multi on the stair carpet
and in the car. The G Tech advert on TV infers you don't have to handle the contents
that you've vacuumed up, but that's not been our experience. The other task I don't like
is that you have to wash and then dry the filter in the Air Ram quite often. Having said that,
it does what we ask of it and don't ever regret buying both appliances.

Surely reaching out to the wider world outside the protectionist racket the EU have created is far less isolationist.. We should be looking global not just to the EU. For starters we have the entire commonwealth to rebuild ties with after neglecting them in favour of the EU. It's like the obvious discrimination the EU show the rest of the world in terms in their special little club. Our government said we will start to treat immigration fairly, ie one size fits all around the globe... look at the anger that raised amongst club remain who wish to continue discrimination against 7 billion people around the world in favour of treating 500 million on preferential terms. I would rather my children grow up in a fairer world than the one that the EU passes off as acceptable discrimination.

I'm not sure if people actually use this saying over here, but it's pretty much the same as a common Dutch saying: "a good neighbour is worth more than a distant friend".

Personally, I find it good to know about Dyson (the reason may be fairly obvious). It may affect our future purchases, as we are considering a cordless vacuum as well.
