Said it after last week, I’ll take a win over a performance every day of the week.

We’ll Southend are a better side then Bristol for sure. A draw was probably a fair result. Bahre was poor again, did little. Lindsey was really poor for me also, bad decision making, half ar@sed tracking at times, poor distribution. Rest of the team just didn’t click, the quick forward passing of earlier in the season has turned Keith Hill-esque. Take nothing away from Southend however. Well organised league one outfit

That's it. Peterborough is the only recent match we've played well in, but we have just grinded out another lucky win to nill.

Back to back 1-0 wins during a dip in performance levels for last couple of weeks. Pleased with that.

If we keep winning while not playing at our best then once we click back into gear then we should be up near the top. The real problem would have been if we failed to win the last two games.

A few players form has dipped at the same time - Bahre, Potts, Cavare and despite the goal Moore aren’t at the level they were for Peterborough and Luton or our earlier brilliant displays. The team can probably carry one or two below par but 3 or 4 makes it a struggle. And McGeehan still looks short of confidence.

Would rather be winning knowing we can play much much better, than losing playing at our best.

Frustrating for 80 mins is how I sum it up.
Half arsed passes , reluctance to nip in front to intercept ball which Sarfend did well imo.no players making space waiting for ball to reach them .
Little idea how to break them down .
Well click at some point in season so grinding wins out whilst we’re below par will keep us in touch till we do .

Thought we were decent against Luton as well. And it’s not that lucky when we hit the bar twice and created more than twice as many chances as they did even if we were not at our best

Bristol Rovers smashed Blackpool away, 3-0 today.

Today was a good result for us. Another home win to nil.

If you can't play well, but still win, what's to moan about?

I actually think we did play well in spells though. Both moves for Potts' chances were a joy to watch. As was the Woodrow goal that should have stood. We play a very exciting brand of football, and sometimes it comes together beautifully (we've seen that a handful of times already). Sometimes it won't happen for us. And in those games you need to find different ways to prosper.

I thought the same, both last week and this. It’s no good saying that if we don’t play free-flowing football for a whole match then it’s not worth watching, or even that it’s rubbish.

There was plenty to admire today but sometimes things happen so fast that they are missed. A good example of that was the sublime lay-off by Hedges to Potts which resulted in him nearly breaking the crossbar. The pass was top class. For all the misplaced or overhit passes there are plenty more to admire.

We’re not playing teams off the park just lately but we’re still sitting pretty in the top four. That will do for me.

Hedges has so much talent and potential I’m hopeful that if he is now fully fit, which he seems to be, he’ll be a regular starter. Think he’s a quality player in the making and just what we need. Quick, fast feet with the ball, can beat a man and has a decent cross and shot on him. If we can somehow rediscover the Isgrove of 15/16 and get the two of them playing on either wing, with Moore and Woodrow/Brown in the middle we could be on to something special. Gutted for Izzy. Was looking good and sharp in pre season. His pace with and without the ball, and outlet from corners, and his ability to beat his man would/will be such a threat in Stendels system. Plus he is so good at defensive cover. Must be brilliant for fullbacks to know he’s helping them out.

Hedges run & cross for Woodrow to finish gave a glimpse of the future imho.

Pity it was bizarrely ruled out

Plenty of positives from today for me (other than another win & a clean sheet, against a stubborn and well organised team). Depends how you saw the game I guess.
