Sorry I didn't know there was a contractual obligation to charge a fiver in order to encourage attendance or to use twitter to advertise the game. Which regulation is it under?
You are trying to be smart, you know I mean we are contracted to be in the competition , the one you are advocating the club should not enter .
You must have been there then Wayne. And thus deserve to be shot. Or perhaps shot at, by an under 21. For supporting your club. Or at least for having nothing better to do with your fiver on a Tuesday night. I watched it on ifollow, cos I'm obsessed with watching BFC. But only cos the last of the bonfires died out last night and the heretics are safe.
We will follow the Barnsley, over land and sea, we will follow the Barnsley WHATEVER the game may be.
Advocating that we do not advertising the match , not marketing the game , playing behind closed doors & then failing these ideas you want the club to charge our own fans £ 50 to attend . You can dress your words up how you, like but you are saying in every which way that we should not be in this competition ,but if we have to be then make a stance by implementing your daft ideas . Imagine the uproar if the club wanted to charge our own fans £50 , unbelievable.
So basically no I've never suggested that we shouldn't enter. Didn't think so but thanks for clarifying
As far as I can gather. The club's had three options to vote on in this competition in 2016. 1. A 48 team format. 2. A 64 team format to include 16 u21s. 3. To do away with the competition altogether. 66% chose the 64 team format. Going forward next season club's will have the opportunity again to discuss the competition and vote on the format.
Considering the shambolic nature of this competition I thought 2300 was a good turnout. I would have liked to have been shivering with the lads in the East Stand, but, instead, I was fast asleep in my beachside condo in Thailand - after a day relaxing round the pool and going out for a nice meal and a few beers wearing shorts and t-shirt. Someone has to do such things. I will be back in time for the games over Christmas and into the New Year. If I had been at home I would I have gone, because I live around the corner from the ground.
Hang on. How do you know what the club’s “stance” is? Not market or advertise the game. Get real. Never going to happen just because you don’t like the competition. It’s an ill thought out mess I agree but it’s a runout for the reserves
Its a competion, go, dunt go, love it, hate it, i went last neet enjoyed it, and ill go again, and if we get to WEMBLEY ill be there with at least another 30,000. SOME FOOTBALL IS BETTER THAN NO FOOTBALL. Let the higher rakkeee sort the politics side of it art. SUPPORT YA TEAM. C.O.Y.R C U ALL IN WEMBLEY
Wasn’t there a wadge of cash from the premier league to the EFL clubs used as a bribe to persuade clubs to vote for the 64 team format?
Not sure re both points. Picked it up on one of the EFL Checkatrade format. Links. It also includes quotes from managers who were all for it in that format. Can’t find the bugger now. I was looking for competition rules at the time.
