Due to tracks being "too slippery".

Can't think of any response to that.

Its amazing isn't it? In Japan, trains travel around at 180mph but we have to stop them over here for a few soggy leaves.

Northern Rail are run by Arriva UK, a subsidiary of Deutsche Bahn. Wonder if the German trains stop due to leaves on the track...

Which Tory ball bag was in charge when the railways were privatised? Was it John Major? If so, I hope Edwina Currie gave him a dose.

Bad enough they now have posters up around stations that Saturday strikes are officially until at least the end of the year.

Like that time they were cancelled due to the wrong type of snow on the tracks

    or in Haiku:

    In Japan trains run
    smoothly in all weathers, but
    not so in Yorkshire.

Slippery rails is a problem and you'd hate to be on a train whose brakes didn't work.

    But...

We have leaves on the line every year so how come no one has come up with a solution yet.

Unfortunately, leaves falling from trees is an unusual phenomenon and only occurs in just the UK.
