Championship at Oakwell I hope. I believe the short to mid-term plan is to try and establish the club in the Championship again with the aim of settling in there. Basically, the same plan, but at a slightly higher level. For the time being that's about as high as we're realistically able to get anyway. Anything more than that, especially in just 5 years, would just be too ambitious.
Probably Championship with an eye to getting the squad sensibly into a shape where we were a couple of ambitious signings from a promotion push.
Well in the last 55 years of watching, I have overseen approx 6 relegations & 5 promotions in that time , so the oddds say we change divisions on average every 5 years , so lets hope the next one is a promotion not the dreaded drop .
Bottom half championship. Unless the club gets a significant boost in budget through whatever means, we are destined to be either bottom section of the championship, top half league 1.. Maybe with a spattering of exceptional seasons where we may keep up the pace in the champ until mid season and fizzle into mid table... But if money truly talks and we purely stay within our means, we will become somewhat of a yo-yo champ/league 1 club IMO.. That's no reason to stop dreaming / believing of something better. Maybe one year we sign 2 or 3 absolute gems under the radar and we really start to dream again..
Championship lower mid table having just sold Brad Potts to Real Madrid playing at sunny Oakwell now renamed the Bapps Bolts Arena
If that's the Champions League that no longer has the top clubs who've formed a European Super league then it's beneath us and I, for one, won't be attending.
Where are we in relation to the scheme of things? I’m sure I’ve seen that before. Anyway. Top six Championship. Or Mid table / bottom half of Premeir.
As there will be a European super league by then the premiership will have devalued quicker than a quid after Brexit. A restructure will pull the top end Championship teams up to the newly formed Prem ( Leeds will be leading the charge to the final week then fall away and stay in the Championship where they will get even more telly time than Corrie) We will be comfortably in the Championship until the FA realise there's nowhere to dump their sh"te referees on a Saturday at which point they will remember a rule from 1897 that all teams starting with BA belong in the conference......or am I being cynical...
Either top 6 of League One or bottom 6 of Championship. Over the last 13 years it’s pretty much where we’ve been & unless we have huge investment I can’t see it changing.
At Oakwell complaining about ticket prices, selling our better players and replacing them with kids, listening to sweet caroline and some form of naff half time entertainment. Paul Futcher will have just been inducted into the HoF. We'll likely be low end Championship or top half league 1.
Conan will have finally been sectioned. Jay might have sobered up and apologised to Mario Kempes YTFCs hairline has receeded that much his forehead can be seen from Space. Nudgers wind up predictions start to come true. Farnham reds had finally figured out that you can still travel to mainland Euro aftet Big Lil employs charlotte church as his cleaner. Jimmy Cricket announces his marraige to Diane Abbott. The Reev gets time for insurance fraud.
NOBODY knows wot the future holds, but i had a DREAM, PREMIERSHIP, AVERAGE GATES 25K, NEW SCOREBOARD, WEST STAND COMPLETE - FACELIFT, AND THEN THE ALARM GUZ OFF, and ere i am LIVING THE DREAM. C. O. Y. R.
Either Championship or League one (assuming no changes to the national structure of league football) depending on where we are in our current "Yo-Yo" cycle.
I’d hope as a sustained championship club (of course still playing at Oakwell) looking up rather than over our shoulders.
