Unless he’s going to be out for a while I think we’ll likely look to request a release for Davies if he is not going to be on the bench for Wales, or trust Greatorex. Will wait and see though. Still think the keeper spot is up for grabs this year and who knows, if there is a good keeper sat in the reserves somewhere in the premiership/championship who we could get on loan with a view to a January move then that would interesting. Davies and Walton still both very young with a lot of potential. A good experienced pro to help them and push them on could benefit them and us.
Don't the international games have all reserves on the bench? But yeah, if he's third choice then I'd rather have him with us if Walton is also unavailable.
how about a cheeky bid for Keiren Westwood hes not getting in the wenndies side for reasons unknown I think he is a great keeper at 34 years old he may be ok for the rest of this season
That would cause a seismic movement over in north Sheffield. Hey, we might even get a few Wendy fans reversing the trend of the 1960s by getting on buses to come and watch us
He would be a good shout but only for a month ,whist Davis is with Wales & Walton recovers . I think you can only sign them in an emergency situation like we have now & not as a an extra signing for the season , also if believed , Westwood is on an astronomic wage, which we would probably have to cover given the Wendies current financial plight .
I understand he has errr.....differences with the owls coach. Would be a fantastic achievment to get him....not sure we would...just with wages.
Davies is unlikely to be released form the squad - third choice maybe but say one of the keepers gets a knock or is ill on the day of the game? All of a sudden he’s second choice. They won’t let him play I don’t think.
I really hope we back Greaterex & give him a go. When we’ve had injuries at left back we were happy to give 3rd choice Ben Williams a go & he looks to have done well from it. Think it sends out a bad message to our young players that we don’t trust them for the sake of one game. If it was for several games or months then fair enough but it’s not & we shouldn’t be panicking. Absolute worse case scenario is he has a bad game & we miss out on points from one game. Stendel should be in the dressing room Saturday at 2.30 telling the players to make his debut as easy as possible by playing well & keeping the game in the Accrington half.
