He usually does go on a bit. but he was right about Perry being out of order in her out of control tirade that came about simply to deflect away the stuff she couldn’t answer and try to mask her poor performance. Surprised at DD for allowing her constant interrupting. I know others try to do it but he soon stops it, he didn’t on a few occasions tonight though with her.

Surprised DD dint stop the show when she accused him of not liking it when women speak..........she must have accused him of some sort of " ism "
by today's standards.....and no apology from her either.
Did think the mix of the panel was weird tonight as it was quite a momentous day in our political future and i've not even heard of 2 of em.
dint think it consisted of any really Big political hitters to debate what is becoming the biggest crisis since WW2.
Maybe its back to the public vote with a ..."Deal from May or Want to stay" voting slip.

Listening to the panel I found it incredibly worrying to think what’s going to happen moving forwards.

The deal on the table is clearly the only deal we are going to get from the EU, as much as people posture and say we should renegotiate. This isn’t going to happen. Brexit goes live in 4 months.

So we are left with no deal, which everyone agrees would be a disaster. I don’t think people who aren’t politically minded have any idea what this actually means. Huge tariffs on imports and exports, a plummeting economy, job losses, more austerity, potentially energy crisis as much of our energy resources are imported, airline issues and travel issues into Europe. It would be like taking the country back in time.

Now we could look at both options and say they are worse than what we have now, and say let’s forget the whole charade and stay in the EU, but that would mean lots of people admitting they were wrong all along, even if it keeps our country stable.

One of the things I have noticed in the rhetoric is that the EU are the enemy, and we are at war with them. Yesterday, May was dancing to the tune of the EU, the EU are blackmailing her etc.

The EU aren’t the enemy, they haven’t done anything wrong, granted they might be overly bureaucratic at times, but we’ve been a major part in creating what it is. We ourselves, are an incredibly bureaucratic nation. Most of things that people moan about the EU were driven by the UK, like Health and Safety rules and how the European Justice System is designed.

The situation we are now in, is ******* mental. The two options politicians will choose from are worse than what we have now, and even though most of them know we’d be better to call the whole thing off, they are more worried about themselves than actually admitting it’s been one big **** up.

Ms Perry was odious tonight - constantly interrupted by forcibly complained about others doing it - she managed against all odds to get in the anti-Semitism stuff about Jeremy Corbyn in the midst of the most incredible Tory meltdown that we have witnessed - then says you’re stopping me cos you don’t like a woman speaking- I’ve heard her use this before. Being a loud, lying sod has no gender border

I've not watched it yet as I was feeling sorry for myself having had a tooth extracted and starting with a cold at the same time! Recorded it so no doubt i'll stick it on later.

Irrespective of that, the Tories have a number of truly odious vile characters. Last week Kwarteng, this week Perry (and there are many dozens more). I don't know if they are recruited into the fold for being natural vile, condescending while lacking in substance, or whether they are trained and groomed into that way of being.

QT audiences and panelists always seem to concentrate more on what Labour would do (even though it is of no consequence as there is no chance of an election thanks to a strong and stable government) and gloss over what the Tories are actually doing.

A bloke in the audience nailed it when he pointed out that we ,as a country, managed to survive after 2 world wars and we would do so again.

Can't wait to pick my ration book up ;)

Those people that grew up in the 40s and 50s (and early 60s) were the ones that are directly responsible for the intolerant, money grabbing society we have today. They were the voters that voted for it, the policymakers and politicians that allowed it, and the business leaders that promoted it.

Well said. Those who believed in Brexit didn't make the decision to call the referendum and haven't led on it. The whole of this has been about Tory power from day one and an attempt to close the argument within their own support-base.

Firstly, in Cameron attempting to appease his backbenchers and win over UKIP voters. Despite the fact he already had a majority, this was always about his power. It backfired, as out of touch as he was with much of the electorate, whilst his chum Boris waited as long as he could to pick the side which would advance his political career. The evidence confirms this. Is Boris a committed Brexiteer? Is he balls. He panicked and refused the leadership when he was shocked by the Leave vote. His plan failed too. It was to play the long game, win support of the UKIP lot and oust Cameron after his term. No way has he wanted to deal with this mess - he waits for others to fall on their sword and step in, the buffoonish cartoon knight in shining armour when the dust settles and he's the only Tory left anyone recognises.

Then May. Placed the Government into turmoil by calling an unnecessary election when we were in the midst of the biggest political undertaking for 50 years - to consolidate Tory power. She thought. Now she daren't acknowledge the fact that a 'soft' Brexit probably acquiesces the majority of the electorate, given 48.1% didn't want to leave the EU at all and a large chunk of the 51.9% who did wanted a Brexit on modest terms. She can't even mention the fact that millions wanted to stay because she is so frightened of appearing 'weak' to the vocal minority of ill-informed rabble-rousers who seem to think we're still a Imperial Power in the midst of an Industrial Revolution.

There was no crisis in 2016 relating to our EU membership. The majority of impartial economic forecasts said it wasn't a risk worth plunging the nation into, although there was never an official consultation, of public or experts. Cameron gave us, the unqualified, the choice between two blunt options because he was cocksure the majority would want to stay and he'd win back 200,000 UKIP voters. Two years on, we are in the biggest load of chaos imaginable and all for what? So a handful of elite politicians could cling on to that power and play party politics with our Sovereignty. It's bordering on Treason such has been the disregard for the 74,999,899 other people dragged into it too.

If people, whether they believe in Brexit or not, can't see greed and incompetence has been the root cause of this and still back the Tory elite (which they will) then I'll feel like throwing the towel in and sacking off to Timbuktu.

Good post. We've seen it happening ever since Trump took over in America and here in the UK. Politicians would rather protect their own seat and places in power than do what's right for the good of the country.

I just can’t believe we’re arguing about a worse deal than we have now .
Whichever way it goes it’s worse than what we’ve got and the no deal at all is beachy head politics .
It’s time the politicians who are elected to act in our best interests stood down forcing numerous by elections or a second referendum with all the scenarios on the table .

Just finished watching it. She's certainly special is Perry, and I do wonder if she'd had a "pick me up" before appearing? She was certainly erratic and quite hyper in her behaviour and numerous side shots of extravagantly twiddling her pen, tapping her fingers together and flourishing note writing. It would certainly explain a lot why her vile obnoxiousness was a full 10 on the dial.
