Article on yesterdays game in the Daily Mirror reads as follows: "There were no Careless Whispers going around the Wham stadium. Bellow it from the rooftops , Barnsley are definitely in with a shout of promotion after a hard fought victory at Accrington Stanley- their third successive league win and clean sheet. Goals from Cauley Woodrow and the brilliant Keiffer Moore moved Barnsley up to third and on this performance, the sky is the limit despite having Zeki Fryers sent off for a second booking." Stanley Manager John Coleman said " the second goal flattered them because it was never going to be a 2-0. We now know we can compete with the team I believe are the best in the league."
This all happens at pace so as hes running alongside Potts - and through a static defence - he moves from an onside to an offside position in a fraction of a second. Whether that happens before or after the ball leaves Potts' foot is impossible to call. But certainly not as clear cut as first thought.
I keep hearing people say we’re getting hard done to by refs but I think if anything it’s the opposite. Every tight call seems to go in our favour & whenever our fans lose the plot over a decision when we watch it back later the refs got it right. Makes a nice change from the championship when we’re the smaller club who get shafted
Just my opinion, but I frame by framed it and he looked level with the ball to me. If he's level with or behind the ball, he can't be offside.
Not even close to level with or behind the ball. Look at the distance from the edge of the 18 yard box for both ports and Moore. Not even close.
For me its really hard to tell from that one camera angle - its close and as keefer is looking along the line at the ball I can believe he kept himself level with it, but equally if it had been given offside I would have accepted it - its a lot closer than the one which was clearly onside when Hedges raced past the last man after the ball had been played and was chalked off a couple of weeks ago. Also its not really important in that it didn't really affect the result.
Its not offside. Phase 1 is a direct shot from Potts. Moore could've been 20 yards offside and it wouldn't have mattered as he wasn't considered active in that phase. Phase 2, the keeper parries it to him and he slots home.
Nope thats not how it works its still considered the same phase when a ball is parried by the keeper Had the keeper parried it back to Potts who then crossed it to Keiffer who was then onside thats different and the 2 phase rule applies
