Sorry for delay but went off from Accrington game for a few days and while I was relaxing with a few well chosen real ales I went on a Accy fans forum, Some of the comments are gems , here's a sample... Barnsley are masters of the Dark Arts.... The Ref favoured the big club Got away with murder on the time wasting Diving and rolling around, trying to influence the Ref We matched one of the best sides in this division !!! Was I at the wrong game.....cos the one I was at saw us get 3 bookings and a red card ...a whole string of atrocious decisions against us ....5 of their players surrounding the Ref to get Zaki sent off and a foul on Thiam that was so red it was glowing..then the Ref told him to get up and tapped his watch., and don't get me started on their diving cheating front guy to the sound of the Reds fans chanting "Cheat"..and by the way we won with 10 men scoring the second when we only had 10... Obviously most fans see the bad in the Ref for decisions given against your side but i thought he was just generally crap, full stop. Had a great day at what is a great little club, fans and staff everywhere were friendly and the ground brought back many memories off how football was years ago, standing and singing, and the rush when we scored... lots of comparisons from older reds fans .. Your Opinions would be very welcome
What were the atrocious decisions against us? I thought the ref had a very good game. Both teams had one debatable penalty shout each but I thought the ref got it spot on, Fryers deserved to go. The only bad decision of any note was Moore’s goal but it’s the linesman’s job to flag for offside so I can’t grumble at the ref
Some of those Accrington fans have given us glowing praise as well. Some of them disagreeing with their own managers post match summing up. My Accy mate rang me after the game to congratulate me and say it was a deserved win.
There is a an old guy that goes to my gym who watches them every week. He said they were well beaten & we were the best team they've played so far.
Unbelievable- they went down on each actual or imagined touch - the most typically modern day way possible. Referee bought every one - best one being when he gave a free kick against Thiam for standing still when their player went over his back
