... should have been an Albanian reggae album.

    To quote Noel Gallagher.

I quite liked be here now.

Not the greatest of course but stand by me and all around the world did ok as singles, and the album has sold millions globally.

It was never going to be as good as the first two realistically, none since have been really.

It was just massively over hyped. I used to have a record & CD shop & it was the most returned album of that year.

I would have liked to hear the Albanian reggae album though. Noel was interviewed on the excellent Primal Scream documentary on the BBC & was making the point that every Primal Scream album is totally different to the one that went before.

We sold second hand as well as new, so people used to trade them in.

Be Here Now is a brilliant record. If anyone else had released it, it would have gone down as a classic. But because it followed the first two albums it was hammered after initial favourable reviews.

I'll debate with anyone this album till I'm long in the tooth. It's brilliant.

Agreed about Primal Scream - haven't seen the documentary. Was it on recently?
I've seen them a few times at festivals anda couple of small venue shows. They are also really good at reworking their back catalogue to fit their current sound. Not a band I listen to often but one of my favourite live acts.

The follow up to Morning Glory should have been Afternoon Delight.

But the Starlight Vocal Band got there first. Rubbing their sticks and stones.

You’d have to debate it with Noel who thinks that the drugs didn’t work.

Noel admits they were all off their t*ts when they made that album. Thats why all songs are so long. He said himself it was rubbish. Few decent songs on it but it was poor. They never bettered definitely maybe....

Absolutely he said that. Liam thinks it's great though. The vocals are his best ever.

Probably says more than it should tbf.

Vocals are great if you like listening to someone wolfing in a pissed up superior aggressive kind of way with their head down a manhole.

Which songs on it would you describe as ‘brilliant’

    Just curious?

Stand by me, don’t go away, my big mouth and all around the world ( which I think was pretty before def maybe?) all good songs but I think the album is quite disjointed and over produced

It’s a good album but followed one great album and one very good album.

    In my opinion of course

Songs like girl in the dirty shirt etc are pretty dire!
