All signs are pointing to a Peterborough-like performance. This squad likes playing teams higher in the table. Reckon it'll be 2-0 Barnsley. Bahre to get himself a cracker
I’m hoping he’s sacrificed and we go with Woodrow up tops but can’t see 4-4-2 think he’ll go 4-5-1 in which case I’d start Moncur
Would snap your hand off for a draw if offered it now. Think we’ll see the difference between automatic promotion and playoffs tomorrow night. We’ll have to be at Peterborough/Oxford form rather than Shrewsbury/Doncaster to get anything at all. This is the first and probably only game where I think if both teams play to their best then we’ll lose. There is talent and potential in this squad but a fragility and lack of leadership. Sunderland are getting into the groove and churning out results, and if they get the first goal early I think we’ll get a thumping. Obviously hope I’m very wrong, and they have an off day and we bring our top game. We’ve had a really good run though as well, so hope the confidence is high despite the poor performance Saturday.
I don't think we've played really well since Peterborough in the league, with the exception of the odd half or spell in a game. We're really due a game where we get off to a flyer rather than starting slowly. I think Peterborough was an exceptional performance, and don't expect that every week, but hopefully tomorrow we'll see something closer to that than the Donny one on Saturday.
Think we'll get stuffed. Fell free to pillory me tomorrow when I'm wrong. Hope I am. But I don't think I will be.
If we're at out best we should win.Sunderlands form seems a little patchy at the moment .Two late goals to get a point apiece off Wycombe and Walsall.
Sunderland very rarely score less than 2 at home, so 3-2 to us it is! And u can get 28/1 on that......
You say they are getting into a groove and churning out results, but they have drawn their last two. You could argue that they were down to 10 on Saturday, but so were we at Accrington, and we actually won. Donny at home was an example of churning out a result if there ever was one. I don't want to get too carried away with how good Sunderland are, because I haven't seen them, but they're only just in front of us in the league, so that means we must also have something. I'm open minded about tonight. We went to Peterborough and Accrington thinking they would be tough, and went to Shrewsbury thinking it would be a routine win. Look how they turned out. I think we can definitely win tonight, but we have to be better than we have been of late.
Didn't we give them their first ever Stadium Of Light defeat? The season after we gave them their only home defeat of the season..... https://www.theguardian.com/football/1998/nov/21/newsstory.sport24 https://rokerreport.sbnation.com/20...l-the-time-3-of-the-best-tykes-v-lads-clashes Obviously last season we beat them there to nill. We have a good record at that ground.
