Lindsay didnt exactly bust a lung getting back for that 4th. That was a shocker to concede. 2nd and 3rd were brilliant goals but the 1st and 4th were atrocious.
The Ref was not in a position to see it. He guessed and it cost us dear . It put them on a little run that was more of a freak We played them off the pitch most of the match and if Woodrow s shot had gone in instead of hitting post I think we would have won it
Didn't notice at the time but when the penalty was taken, their no 11 I think it was, had encroached so much, he was nearly offside !!!!
Great tackle clearly got the ball that changed the game heads went down after that. People say he shouldn't of gone in but the ref shouldn't be giving the pen unless he is 100% certain looked like a good tackle last night and the video shows he clearly got the ball.
I thought it was a great tackle last night and this just confirms it. The view from behind the goal shows clear daylight between Pinnock's leg and McGeady as he goes down as if shot in both knees. It was a skillful bit of cheating on his part and he got the result from refereeing incompetence. Having said that though, and I will repeat what I have said before, Pinnock is SO one-footed. A right-footed lunge for that ball would have seen him connect with it well before their player went down. He really makes it hard for himself going in with the "wrong foot" every time. He desperately needs to play on the left of the centre half pair. Having two left-footers is just asking for trouble.
Agree we do look abit unbalanced at times. Wouldn't mind seeing stendel giving a back 3 with wing backs a go Jackson in the back 3 and cavare and fryers as wing backs.
This isn't going to make sense.... but it looks like a penalty to me, but I suspect it shouldn't have been given. I paused it at the frame of the challenge and it looks like the attacker plants his foot just as the tackle is about to come through. So hard to see even in slow mo and pausing it, and the referee can't possibly know if that's a penalty or not. And never in any sport should an official guess. However, the angle of the ball after the tackle and the speed with which McGeadys legs buckle underneath him, he's waiting for the tackle to make his dive. I can see why its been given, though from the angle the referee shouldn't have given it, but from body language and the manner McGeady goes down, I reckon Pinnock got a bit of the ball without taking the player. Super risky challenge though. Just a shame cheating is rewarded so regularly. How many penalties have we been given in the last 18 months again....?
