After witnessing the most frustrating game of football Saturday I decided to get involved in iplayer for tonight’s game and to the neutral it was an entertaining game but that’s where it ended for a barnsley fan because what I saw was a lack of organisation, leadership and direction We were out done by some clinical finishing, biased refereeing and damn right appalling decision making in our own half The stats again showed a different game to what I witnessed and the fact of the matter is that we lack that extra bit of quality and guile in the final third Sunderland cut through our midfield and defence at will and clearly didn’t need many bites of the cherry to score 4 You compare a Maguire to our Potts and the latter has years on his side but the difference in class, pace and ability is gulfs apart - the what we’d give for that extra bit of experience in a game like this cause that’s exactly what was lacking I’m not writing us off after this game but it’s a massive wake up call and a big reality check of where we are so far in terms of top two contenders come the end of season We showed character and determination tonight but the class of Sunderland shone through in the end I’m impressed with the way Ross setup his team tonight and only time will tell whether we missed out with him Stendel has some food for thought after tonight
I agree with some of your comments but we were just as good as them. We run game for two good spells and if Woodrows shot had gone it would have been game on I think their penalty was not a penalty and it took us out of our stride Highly satisfied with team and play but need to be more clinical up front
