I am delighted that our manager decided to put a strong side out ,resulting in progress to the next round . I am particularly pleased for our hardcore fans who made the long round trip , it will make the journey home a very pleasant one . There are other reasons why todays game was very important , it means we receive more cash for getting through & obviously if we pull a plum there will be more cash to hopefully strengthen in january but I think the main point is that goals & wins breed confidence in the players & the club . We have netted eight times in two rounds & that will have done individual players the power of good , some fans think the competition is a waist of time & ridicule it , thats fine thats their opinions, whilst I am looking forward to the draw on monday & hopefully we get one of the big boys ,then myself & others who enjoy the competition can go and enjoy the day , well done the reds .
Yes exactly , you get a fair wedge for getting through each round & like I said earlier , those of us who like the competition can enjoy another game & those who do not care for it, can stop at home & think about what a waste of time the competition is, its a win win for everyone .
FA Cup will always be the best knockout tournament in England. I'm really glad we're in the 3rd round. Its the giant killing round
I hope we get a home tie with a team much weaker than us.... yes I know it lifts players to greater hight's , but to progress a couple or maybe 3 rounds would be great . Then a tie at one of the bigger teams in the prem. It would give the players a good deal of confidence too. Lets face it we are not gonna win it, but a good run and perhaps a top team would be great.
There’s no better boost for morale than winning games. The miraculous turnaround under Flitcroft all started with an injury time winner from Danny Rose on a horrible, rainy January day. As usual I hope we get one of the big 6 or a minnow. Worst case scenario for me is a championship club from down south - Norwich, Reading, Bristol, Brentford, Millwall etc
This link seems to say that it's both http://www.thefa.com/competitions/thefacup/more/prize-fund We get nowt for losing, until we get to the semis.
You get prize money for each round , so far we have accumulated 90 k , if we win our third round tie we win a further 135 k . If you think about it , premier clubs & championship clubs will receive exactly the same if they win their ties & they have had no previous matches to build up their pot yet they will win £135 k just the same.
