I reckon Wilder might tag him sooner or later, but my wager is on a Wilder win on points. Fury hardly did owt when he beat Vlad.
It's a real conundrum. The weight difference is insane. But how do you weigh boxing ability against the physical mismatch? The conclusion I've come to is that at 15 stone 2 lb you can still hurt an opponent if you're a deft enough competitor. I think Wilder has to win, whether on points or by stoppage. Can't say I like either of them though.
Depends on where fury is at after the long lay off. If he is at the same level he was when he best Vlad then I reckon it's going to be Fury winning in a very unanimous points call. If not then he could easily get knocked out. Wilder has appalling techinique from what I've seen but posses crazy power, however Fury back at his best was very very hard to hit
Wilder by KO. 39 KOs in his unbeaten 40 fight record and the champion. Fury hasn't had a proper opponent for years and losing ten stones won't be good for him. Extreme weight loss isn't recommended.
Looks like I'm the only one going Fury then... not sure whether its my head or my heart mind but a boxer always wins against a brawler.
Wilder has never fought anyone ranked before Ortiz and looked awful in that fight until the old man ran out of steam. He's never fought anyone taller than him. It all depends where Fury is. A 30% Fury gets ko'd early doors. A 60% Fury gases out late and loses. A 90%+ Fury schools the limited Wilder. I reckon we've got about a 75% Fury. Only time will tell if that's enough. So in short, my arse is getting splinters from the fence.
I am the biggest of Fury fans and even I don't have a clue what will happen, there's so much context, so many variables and unanswered questions, and that goes for both fighters. Yes, Deontay has sparked every opponent, but about 30 of those fights were in venues smaller than the Metrodome in front of about 100 people against absolute nobodies. And even the last 10 fights have hardly been against top fighters. Credit to him for beating the game, but very old Ortiz, and he did so whilst coming back from a proper towelling at one point where he looked gone. He's got a decent chin, he can go the distance, he has great power and he's unorthodox in his style. That power makes him the most dangerous heavyweight there is, because he can spark folk at any time. But he's barely been tested, and he hasn't been in with someone that I'd call a 'top' fighter. Is Fury still a top fighter? That's one of the many questions. He sure was, three years ago. He dethroned an all-time great in his own backyard, without getting hit very often. He also beat the lively Hammer before that, twice dealt with Chisora (unbeaten and favourite in their first bout) and KO'd Cunningham (a world champ in the weight division below) spectacularly in his own backyard. Not the greatest of resumés either, but I'd call it better than Wilder's. If Fury is as in shape as he looks, if he's still got a good tank, if he can box like he could three years ago, he should win on points. But all that's up for debate isn't it? Which adds to the intrigue. Were Fury to win tonight, and in good fashion, it would be one of the greatest boxing stories of all time. Fairytale stuff. My head tells me that if he does win, he'll have to get up off the mat at least once to do so. I like both fighters, and Wilder is in the peak years of his career and the definite favourite. Head says he will see off Tyson. My heart says Fury tears up the predictions and KO's Deontay in the later rounds. Cannot wait. Only another eight hours or so...
Pretty sure wilder has only fought one opponent who has been ranked in the top 10 in all his fights (at the time of the fight)
No idea, and personally I'm fine with either outcome. Slightly cheering for Wilder, I think Fury/his team/his fanboys are pretty much scumbags, but it'll look good for British boxing if he wins so. I just hope Wilder gets credit if he wins, don't want to hear "but a prime Fury" etc. Likewise if Fury wins, greatest comeback ever.
Feels harsh. Roach and Hatton, scumbags? I’ve not been a Fury fan, but I think he’s really turned things round. I hope he wins. Don’t think he will, but hope he does
If it goes to points, Fury for me. I can’t see Wilder out boxing him. But I can’t see fury knocking wilder out either, despite the weight advantage
Not Roach and Hatton haha.. But look at the way they reacted when Joseph Parker beat Hughie, his dad etc.. People he associates with like Billie Joe Saunders (Used to be a huge fan of his but.. total scumbag lets be honest) and even his fans, fighting amongst eachother during his comeback fight and just the sh*t you see these people talk haha. I used to be a huge fan of Fury but just can't these days, too bitter, too jealous but he's got tons of respect from me and if he wins, I might be back on the bandwagon. Fully neutral for this fight but probably be nicer to see Wilder win. Speaking of Joseph Parker vs. Hughie Fury.. Tyson partied with Joe, even after he beat his own cousin! Is it any wonder you don't see Tyson and Hughie together much these days? Total scumbag move http://www.stuff.co.nz/nz-newspaper...d-conspiracy-theory-claims-at-judges-decision
