Got to be a better option than Thiam. Doubt he would be on our radar though.

But he cost zero transfer fee and very little in wages, which is why he left when he could. Fletcher we would probably have to cover a five figure sum a week to loan him.

I reckon he’s on silly money. He’s going to see out his contract and like every ten bob footy millionaire live out a life of semi pro league 3 existence telling everyone he played for Man Utd and scored in a play off final.

With wages hes on now we have no chance of getting him. Anyway hes not a loan to buy like woodrow so he doesn't fit the spreadsheet.

What wages is he on? He was reportedly on £3,500 a week when he went to West Ham (https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www....eekly-best-paid-top-earner-sportgalleries/amp) Imagine he got a huge/big bump to go to Middlesbrough. Their top earners when he signed was Adama Traore on £20k a week.

He went on loan to Sunderland last year in January, and they reportedly paid his wages in full - when they barely had a bean to rub together. Seems like that move was terrible for him and them.

Sometimes a player needs to take a step back to move forward. We saw the talent he had. But if his confidence is chronically low and he can’t get a game in the championship then he may just fancy playing for a winning team, and get back to scoring goals.

I doubt he is in our thoughts though. Cant see us spending anything in January. Would be nice but new owners seem pretty intent on not doing anything “crazy”. Could see a Wednesday or Wigan gambling a couple of million on him though.

Of course loaning players on short term loan falls within our spreadsheet as you say , what about Williams & Gardner last season ? We do not have to buy everyone we loan .

No one is suggesting replacing either of the front two , but he would be an option if you wanted to change things, but what if we do not sign another striker in january & one of our front two get injured ? There are no more windows after january , the prize is promotion & the £5 million what goes with it , we need to make sure our coaches have the tools to do the job , one thing is certain , if we do not strengthen & injuries occur , then the fan base will not be happy at all .

Not sure Fletcher is the answer but the Striker issue is challenging.
In reality we are not gonna sign anyone better than our current 2, but we need at least one more.
Personally I don’t see any player with the same ability coming and accepting not being first choice, which leaves you having to sign either an up and coming or a someone who has lost their way.

If he's on silly money then he'll be a lot more than a 10 bob millionaire.

We have Adebayego and Brown, don't we? I know they're inexperienced but so was Fletcher 3 years ago.

In the last week I've read posts on here calling for us to re-sign about half our 2015/16 squad. I think our scouting network has a wider range than that.

He even scored for us when he came back. Wrong net obviously but you could see he still loves us :)

Whilst they are both promising players , if anything should happen to either of our front two I would not like to be relying on them to fire us over the line . I would go as far as to say , that if we do not strengthen in january, then we are not serious about getting back , we must make a push whilst the opportunity is there & not be left wondering what might have been .

In an ideal world another striker would be great. I'd rather have another DM & a right back over another striker though.
Given the number of number 10's we have Thiam, Victor & JB, I think we are OK.

Our risk isn`t just of injury - what if an offer for Moore comes in that we cannot refuse?

How do we refuse an offer we can`t refuse?

I do it all the time.

LOL, I just don't think such an offer will exist, either for the player, or us. I think it is in his interests to play a full season, bag 20+ goals (hopefully) & (hopefully), be a Championship player next season.

Given his not too great record in the Championship I can only see struggling teams with a few quid coming in for him.

Sometimes I think there is a case for a player & a club improving their stock, rather than keep moving about. He has a good partner up front in Woodrow as well.

I'd keep him too, but you have to consider that the owners have stated its as you were (which means selling players for profit), but they want promotion too.

Will be interesting to see who clubs look at. I reckon Lindsay may well be the one to go this window. Pinnock and Lindsay are both 18 months away from end of contract, so would be surprised if they either aren't offered new contracts, and if agreements can't be reached, a sale.

and just because Mowatt has signed a new deal, doesn't mean he won't be attracting admiring glances.

Yep, played for West Ham, couldn`t hold down a regular 1st team place or score much, Big move to Middlesborough......where he couldn`t hold down a regular 1st team place or score much.......Loaned to Sunderland whose fans complained he wasn`t worth even a bench warm.......and didn`t score much.

We are in the third division , he played at this level & been a success , he knows what it is like to be involved in a push for promotion & has experience of the big occasions, playing twice with us at Wembley . Some players just fit in at a club & Fletcher fits well with us , it also would give him the chance to kick start his career , whats not to like , or do you think there are better players out there who would jump at the chance of dropping to division three ? . I genuinely think because of his previous time with us he might just come , I know Hecky said he was very close to signing him before he went to Middlesboro but he chose a permanent deal as opposed to coming here on loan .
