Hate the bloomin things. Love all varieties of tomatoes. But only tinned plum tomatoes on a full English. Hotels should be banned from putting half a grrrrrrrrriled tobloodymarto on the plate. Someone please start a petition. Would do missen but too idle.

I fail to see the point of a grilled half tomato. Or indeed a grilled full tomato. Waste of time and effort.

If a grilled half tomato was a political party it would be ukip.

I don’t mind a grilled tomato if they actually grill it.

Most efforts look like they’ve had a Luke warm breath blown on it for no more than three seconds, and are still completely raw.

Done in the oven lots of olive oil bit of black pepper and sea salt. Can’t stand tinned tomatoes on a cooked breakfast. Devils vomit.

Hate the things. Them and hash browns - nasty American immigrants. And I always seem to get the arse end half when I get one!

I like to cook baby tomatoes in the oven, adding a bit of extra virgin olive oil, sea salt, black pepper & oregano.

Am I George Spicer in disguise?

A vile food, in fact it's the food of the devil. I remember as a kid watching my old man eat tomatoes with sugar, unless it was a dream. I tell people down here and there reaction is priceless

Done as John Peachy describes they can be great...on the other hand, nothing retains it's heat like a tomato (maybe jam) so I'm often nursing a burnt tongue afterwards.

Not a great fan of grilled tomatoes but they are better than tinned ones - they should only be used in foreign pasta dishes
Slice tomatoes and fry them like my mum used to do and I do occasionally - thats the way they should be on an full english

ps agree with the comments about hash browns - they are as English as an English Muffin - no place on our breakfast table

Aye not arsed about them on a full english but I think they are good on a bacon butty (on a bread cake with well done bacon with pepper). Tinned are good that way also though. Takes me back to Madges Cafe on Wellington street when my dad used to have a shop on there in the 80s.
