Waddle (Bradford) and Prosinecki (Pompey) both scored against us in their latter years. Joe Cole too, for Coventry. Obviously not in their class, but still a big name player.

Frank Stapleton played for Blackburn against us just after the 1990 World Cup. Same game that Andy Rammell made his debut for us and scored the winner?

I think you could be right about that. I know when Reid signed for Everton, his price had reduced massively because of injury.

Roger Hunt of the England 1966 World Cup winning team playing for Bolton Wanderers in a game which featured long 'behind the goal' chats with Charlie Wright, the Bolton keeper. When Hunt got the ball, Wright shouted some words of advice and then turned to us behind the goal and said, 'I have to let these youngsters know what to do.' Hunt was in his thirties by then.

Gascoigne was at Everton around 2001/2 under Walter Smith.
