He lost all interest when his Dad died. He just didn’t care. Would have been one of the all time greats in my opinion had his love for the game stayed.
I hadn't realised that was the catalyst for his downfall, I just remember seeing that he has got fat and lost his motivation. But I will always remember his prime when he was l'imperatore and had a foot like a traction engine on pro evo
So how would you define "overated"? Especially in a footballer. Maybe its an equation of the amount they cost and what they actually delivered. For us, without knowing what they cost, I'd go frimpong and mido, they had decent agents and probably screwed a fee out of us in return for what?? Somebody who should have been a brand ambassador for Greggs and somebody who thought he was Kanye West (as if that's a thing anyway)
When I used to be unhealthily obsessed with football I used to watch a lot of Italian football. He was incredible. Genuinely think he would have been one of the best ever. For natural talent I still do. For 3 Seasons or so he was unplayable.
Thinking about it a lot of the Brazilians don’t seem to have a long prime. Ronaldinho, Kaka, Adriano, Robinho are a few of the big ones but there’s been plenty of others, always found Elano strange, came over here & was incredible for City, scoring stunning goals & free kicks & just seemed to disappear over night almost. Oscar’s probably gone the same way through a bad career choice as well
Person 1 - Which footballer is overrated? Person 2 - Footballer A - For reasons 1,2,3 and 4 Argumentum ad populum - No he is isn't, he's the best footballer ever, ever, ever, ever, ever. And you're rubbish and wrong for thinking otherwise. I don't think it possible to find a better illustration of person 2's argument being vindicated.
I think the Messi debate can only be about wether he or Ronaldo is the best player still playing and for me Ronaldo tops Messi because he's done it consistently where ever he's played Messi has performed brilliantly at one club in an arguably easy league
We love to believe the prems the best league & that Spain only has 3 good sides yet the likes of Bilbao, Valencia, Villarreal & Sevilla have regularly turned England’s top 6 sides over during the last decade.
It's the strongest league in Europe. Top of the UEFA rankings. Spanish clubs win virtually all the European trophies.
