will we ever see a team as fit as the 2015/16 squad

those lads were super-fit,led by a midfield general in Hourihane who lead by example, they could press and run for 90 minutes and more, we had no passengers ,no lazy players, this squad needs to step up, with a German management team, I expected us to be as fit this season, but for me we seem to be carrying one or two players who will not go the extra yard
Stendal needs to get them fitter and first thing is to make Dougal captain on his return, a goalkeeper who seems a quiet reserved character, is no good for kicking ass when the chips are down, get some aussie grit out there in the middle of the park

What happened that turned out season around that season? What was the magical ingredient that turned us from a struggling team to one that could blow the opposition away? I don't think we're far away from being a very good team but we need to find whatever it is that we have lost recently. Kenny returning will be a major boost but further additions needed in January too.

Whilst the sentiment of your post is commendable , I would say that during our 8 match losing streak & the debacle of Altringham, there were plenty on here & on the terraces , who were saying that we were carrying passengers & that we did have players who were lazy & that the squad needed to step up, but things turned round , currently we are 5th in the league & going through an iffy patch , yet people are pointing the finger , calling the players lazy etc etc, its a good job we are not in the bottom 5 . Why do we not ride it out & lets see where the season takes us , if at the end of the day we fail, then let the inquests begin, but we are not even half way through the season . I would have thought out of all the fans in the country, that the Barnsley fans who experienced the 2015/16 season know how things can change & knee jerk reactions are not always right with patience being the key to success .

Good thing is, those lads had to improve greatly, otherwise it was looking like league 2.

As much as people are falling on their swords, these lads are in a far better position to push on and get back to the early season form.

We were near bottom of league at same stage of season .
I think you can only compare with hindsight on the 15/16 and compare this team .
This team are in a better position than the latter so your logic is flawed .
Both teams got/are getting abuse for below par performances .
Judgement at end of season imo .

And the majority have seen their wages drop when we where relegated, And know how much more they will get if they get promoted.
