Was anyone on here on the official coach that broke down about an hour from Wycombe? Apparently, the passengers got in touch with GG and the media guys and they arranged taxi's to the game for the fans and drinks vouchers (and arranged a new coach home). Must have cost em a few quid
I saw a tweet commenting on the breakdown - and a Barnsley hastag, but NOT tagging anyone in particular in, and GG replied. I understand they got a coach, and the remainder went by taxi. I hope Wilfreda paid for it! A Wilfreda broke down on the way to Accrington too - but fortunately, we were in Accrington so we all walked up to the ground. Maybe Gordon's weren't so bad after all. (I'm not saying breakdown's can be avoided like).
I read about this on saturday night , a fantastic gesture by the club , another good example of positive PR
Good of them to do it, but the least those on the broken down coach should expect. It's the club that's changed coaches to a company that's broken down a few times already on fans, so it's the club that has to do their best to make sure the fans get to the match they have paid for, which is what happened in this situation. Gordons coaches probably broke down too, but it won't have been this often. These coaches look a lot nicer but seem far less reliable.
The thing what impressed me was the hiring of taxis & provision of food & you are right , when a coach breaks down it is the responsibility of the coach company to get the passengers to the destination , not the person who booked the coach , in this case the club , so I think the club did very well .
We go on the club coaches now and again. They go so early sometimes you could break down and walk the last 50 miles and still be there before kick off! We went with them to Southend and were toying with Wycombe. Glad we drove down in the end. Must say, the Beehive coaches look the part and are comfortable though, despite reliability problems.
My mates father was on bus and what Gally said is correct Great gesture from GG and club that, shame team didn't turn up
Is that actually correct? If I exchange a contract with the club isn't the club responsible for fulfilling that contract regardless of who they choose to supply them? In the same way that if I buy a TV from currys and it breaks my contract was with Curry's and it's them who must repair or replace the TV not sony
Surely the club hire the coach company & therefore are the customer . The coach company are contracted to take passengers to a venue & it is their responsibility to do exactly that.
Fans buy a ticket for the coach from the club, who has the responsibility. If I went to Currys PC World and bought a Sony TV that broke, I would take the TV back to Currys PC World and not get in contact with Sony.
The club are a business and it's a business to business transaction with the club hiring the coach company as a supplier. The customer is the customer
