I’m expecting a few like this on the continent.

The UK sending a signal that if they don’t play ball over Brexit - then neither will the UK security services .......... who they depend on.

    Could be.
    Stranger things have happened.
EU is playing with fire if they lose British intelligence.
Us - Americans - Israelis - best in the world.

We didn’t do too well with Irish terrorists .
Most of information came from America when they decided to tell us that is

Russians are head and shoulders above everyone else , they have a puppet in place in the White House , can waltz into UK anytime they want poising people with radioactive material and nerve agents with impunity and have most of the Middle Eastern countries dancing to their tune

According to nudge we are so good at catching terrorists that at one point in the not very distant past international security institutions named our capital Londonistan in tribute to how many wanted Islamic terrorists were living here,
In Latin America they are reluctant to cooperate because of the falklands and also the Thatcher protecting Pinochet which also pissed of the Spanish against us .
Think nudge has his head up hid arse if he thinks we are anywhere near the best

The US did some good work and shared it undoubtedly, particularly in denying the IRA surface to air missiles...it was a long haul but the IRA was beaten because it was infiltrated by British Intelligence to a degree that the top echelons no longer knew who they could trust.

Not really... it's impossible to stop every attempt, as the IRA said " remember, we only have to be lucky once, you have to be lucky all the time"

I think your wrong there tbh
The IRA had sleeper cells hidden in mainland Britain who to this day know one knows who they were
Britain were just waking up to the fact that our security forces had banged away innocent victims to ward off public criticism because they didn’t know who was responsible the Guildford four etc.
It was the Bombs in the heart of the City that brought the IRA to the negotiating table by John Major and then Tony Blair.
Not saying part of your point isn’t true that the IRA were getting nervous but our security forces apart from the obvious suspects hadn’t a clue about the sleeper cells that almost brought the city to its knees and brought pressure on the govt to act .

It's generally accepted that so many IRA operations were compromised by information that came from within...not only from within but from a very high level, that neither Adams nor McGuinness knew who they could trust, most books about the subject agree one of those sources was Freddie Scappaticci, who was the head of IRA internal discipline known as the Nutting Squad. There were also at least one other member who was spirited out by British Intelligence, if I remember rightly the warning phone call about the Loughgall police station attack in which an IRA active service unit was wiped out by the SAS came from an IRA member.

Just to follow that up...a bit of interesting reading from The Independent in 2002.

Saw a documentary I think on BBC a few years back where Blair and Major admitted their concerns on the IRAs new. tactic of targeting the city .
They were avoiding casualties by bypassing the security as they complained they were denying coded warnings so started contacting prominent journalist . They were suggesting the security forces were deliberately withholding their warnings and denying coded warnings from them .
To suggest that the EU would collapse without the aid of our security forces is imo far fetched and if we decided we were not gonna work with EU security because of Brexit which is what was suggested in the thread and led to this discussion is ridiculous and criminal imo

Tbh Marlon....I hadn't bothered reading Nudgers post so I was not responding to that.
More to the suggestion that we hadn't done too well with IRA Terrorism.
