Another example of what a shambles of a situation we are in. Tories in self- preservation mode again. Another period of regrouping, jostling for positions and so it begins again. #BritishlaughingstockofEuropeandbeyond

Carry on trying to push through the lame Brexit deal.

It was 200 for and 117 against for May.
Corbyn was 40 for and 172 against when he faced a no confidence vote in 2016. He then went on to win a leadership challenge by 61.8%

Wonderful. DUP will not like her deal and back off from propping her lot up. Also SNP will make life very difficult. GE must now just be around the corner.

My guess is that unless concessions are made then her deal will not get passed.

We will then go back to a second referendum to try and save her skin.

But before that a vote of no confidence might be put forward in Parliament and a GE if govt is beaten.

Yes, that's the only real way forward.

The EU won't change their position & there is no majority in parliament for a harder Brexit stance, so is the only sensible outcome.
Farage tried talking it down on C4 news, but was unable to come up with any constructive proposal as an alternative.

The all situation is one big con wake up n smell the coffee She has come back with a deal that no one wants either leave or remain. The plan all along was to make us have another vote,, Your options are remain, Leave with the deal on the table or no deal. Conclusion is the leave vote is halfed and the remain vote wins.

Dragon the challenge you talk of is a challenge to tory party leadership.
I was referring to the opposition putting forward a vote of no confidence in the government because more than likely the DUP will not back the tories

The problem there though Ian is that unless Tories vote against themselves (turkeys for Xmas etc) the Govt will win...the DUP suggested last night that its only the withdrawal deal they would vote against..

There should be no No Deal option. Two choices: May's deal or Remain. People voted to leave and her deal offers that chance, it may not be exactly what people wanted or even slightly what some people who voted leave wanted but you can't have a hundred different leave options to choose from to suit everyone. May has apparently got the best deal she possibly can after 2 years of trying so now the options should be take that and leave or reject it and remain.

Does it b*****ks. You might as well say that democracy dies the next time we have a General Election that delivers anything other than a Tory government.
Circumstances change, views change. If there's another referendum that results in a Remain vote is that the will of the people or doesn't it count?
You could hope that millions of people have forgotten what a total fiasco brexit is and have a third referendum in a few years just to test it. If amnesia strikes enough there might be another leave majority.
Alternatively we could, in future, stick to letting the MPs we vote for do the job we nominate them for.

Hmm. Not sure if Sinn Fein will do that. But it might very well happen which makes things very interesting.
