I've just said I don't expect problems with meds as they would be prioritised over other goods when there are hold ups.

    Goods are another matter.

Tbf Shenk you actually said you didn't think there'd be a problem with medicines (mainly because I don't think we'll leave)....but I do agree under no deal some goods might be a problem at first, but business demands on both sides will get that sorted.

I believe they have ... couldn't find a single scenario where financially we would be better off leaving. Effectively we are negotiating to limit the damage.

I believe they were the very blighters we put the restrictions in to prevent doing so that they could invest but only EU members had full access. I suspect if May had not gone in with her red lines and approached things like an adult they would have found a way to accommodate us as it is we are hoist by own petard whatever a petard is.

You are correct of course. No worries, I don't mind being corrected. I meant the electorate as you probably knew. My point was really about the posters derogatory comment regarding leave voters having one brain cell. People voted leave for many different reasons just the same as they did remain.

I didn't say we were all going to die but I based on your assumption that all will be fine after a no deal brexit then I asked what your assumption was because its categorically clear that a no deal brexit wouldn't be fine.

We would be the only large scale economy on WTO terms and even the WTO have said theres not guarantees that could happen.

We import far more than we export, since Thatcher turned us into a service economy in the 70s and 80s. We have very little exports, apart from a small motor trade and engineering industry mainly now based in the midlands.

So prices we buy in the shops automatically go up, some say on average by 40% and also the people who do manufacture lose all their jobs because exportation costs automatically increase far more than the competition, therefore commercially unviable.

Added to the fact that every piece of import or export then has to be checked at borders in Europe and the UK, things move far slower.

This is not doom mongering, its a fact. Leaving on WTO rules will bring this country to a standstill.

All because we don't like foreigners, we are putting the future of our children at risk. Its ******* mental.

I'll put this on record, my family and I, would be better financially a with Tory government and their taxation policies, however, I care about other people, I care about the NHS, I care about getting more police on the street, I care about reducing crime and having a fairer society, I even care about you, even though you seem not to care about me.

Austerity caused this, not the EU or some people from other countries.

I believe we should all be born equal. We are so far from that its untrue.

Its a very simple question, the fact you are choosing not to answer it says everything.

Austerity was caused by greedy bankers and then the right wing that backs them, is, this Tory govt of the day. There was no need for austerity, it was used as a tool for breaking down the welfare state and privatising it for the benefit of those in govt linked to private companies.

If we are supposed to have 'saved' all the money from austerity over the years where he it gone???? We are borrowing more than pre austerity from world bank's. Only the richest 5% of the world have grown richer as well as the bank's.

Osborne and Cameron have much to answer for...

    Meanwhile

Bankers have not changed one bit.

It's just not news worthy enough. It's far easier to promote news which continues to cause division.

    Division = control

I promised myself not to get involved in this thread again, but here I am for the last time....

If you really do care about people as you say you do.... why do you peddle out the worst case scenario of everything that is happening? The medicine situation has been discussed on here, and the drug industry says not a problem, the Govt have looked at contingency’s and put a plan in place in case of problems... but doctors have said there will be a problem. So everyone says there is a problem!

WTO... there’s no guarantees.... doesn’t mean it will not happen.

If all decisions were made on worst case scenario, we would not do anything. And the world would be a worse place.

Just because what we are doing is unprecedented, does not mean it won’t work. But many in Europe will follow.

I find your insinuation that we don’t like foreigners abhorrent. It fits your sound byte though, so is peddled our again. It’s not about not liking foreigners, it’s about getting out of the monster of the old boys club that is the EU.

So in conclusion, unlike you, I’m unsure of what will happen. I believe neither side tbh. But I do know that we have industries that are and will be very profitable and required by Europe.

I’m afraid that’s just a lie. George Osbourne has said very explicitly that austerity was a political choice. We are now worse off financially than we were then but May says she has ‘ended’ austerity. The EU had zero influence in the uKs decision to pursue austerity.

The EU and its austerity screwed the Greek people over good and proper and asset stripped its country before flogging the best bits off to French and German companies. It actively chose a financial policy that killed people in order to 'get the country in shape'. No Labour supporter would back this because its essentially Tory policy writ large.

I spoilt my ballot, because whilst I like some aspects of the EU I couldn't support an organisation that does the above. Nor could I support racist xenophobes who blamed this countries ills directly on immigrants.

I’m not peddling the worst case scenario, I’m saying what’s going to happen if we leave on WTO rules.

Far greater minds than mine are saying it, who are economists. It’s not scare mongering it’s real.

You seem to be one of those that think we were fine prior to being in the EU so we’ll be fine again, the empire will strike back.

The governments of the last 70 years have sold the Crown Jewels and we are left with carcas of what we once had.

I’ve not mentioned the medicine issue although I think people are right to be worried, but that born out of uncertainty rather than a reality.

So if it’s not because of immigration, what are the reasons why you want to leave the EU so bad that even leaving on WTO would be worth the risk?

Dominic Raab was proudly showing a graph yesterday that illustrated that the average wage now is lower than it was in 2010 and it has been that way since the general election in 2010. For the entire duration of their rule, we have all been poorer than we were under Labour in 2008-2010 (the graph only went back that far).
