Unbelievable! If his name was Hammill or Mowatt, or Jennings, there would have been no successful appeal

It was the correct decision to rescind it as the ref got it wrong ( hard to believe I know)
Have we actually appealed a red in recent times - I cant think of any that we did appeal

Gi'oer. It was the correct decision to rescind.

I agree, it was never a red card.

Not saying it was right or wrong - the tv shot wasn't clear enough. All I am saying is that I can't think of a single time that a Barnsley player has had a red card chalked off

But do we ever appeal them?

Probably not because they don't think it's worth bothering. Amazing how many other clubs get away with it, and then play us the next match (Sunderland recently, now Pompey).

I understand not making a frivolous appeal but there must be some when we've thought we had a decent chance but still not bothered.

There is another example too but I can't remember the details. It could have been Gus.

Having a man sent off, and then getting it chalked off. It's all hit and miss. One man's studs up, potential leg breaking tackle is another man's mis-timed, innocuous challenge that just happened to catch the player and he fell over.

Pompey and Sunderland got lucky with their decisions. Like I said - hit and miss. They might have got it rescinded, they might not. There's no logic to it sometimes.

The overwhelming consensus seems to be that it was the correct to rescind. Parity has been restored. They had the option to appeal and they took it. We have the same option. To my recollection we have never taken it. I can't see any grounds for complaint.

So if its not a red card, probably worth a yellow? If so he should have still been sent off as he was booked a few minutes before!

Badly handled all round. It’s what we have to expect though isn’t it. It’s so rare for refs to get the big decisions right

You cant complain that other clubs have them rescinded but we don't if we don't ever appeal.
You can't then say 'theres no point us appealing because the fact hate us and they are deliberately targeting Barnsley and wouldn't ever rescind ours.

Well you can but you look silly

You know who is to blame for the fact that we don't get red cards rescinded but other clubs do? Barnsley FC for not appealing. Don't appeal and it will never be rescinded. If you feel it was wrong and you don't appeal you are to blame for it not being rescinded

Not lucky. The correct decisions to rescind it. We didn't get ours rescinded because we stupidly never appealed them. Our fault not theirs. Deal with it :)
