Yeah, I'd forgotten about that one. Crazy game. We had a similar 3-3 at their place with retaken penalties etc.

Someone commented about ours and Swanseas fortunes since we beat them in the play off final, but look at Stockport and how they've gone the other way.

Strong feeling we will bounce back. 3-1 reds and Pompey get stuffed by Sunderland afterwards. That’s the kiss of death now.

This has got me thinking about snow bound games, as ours may be called off in the present day. Anybody else remember another occasion when we made MOTD because of QPR's plastic pitch (1981/82 season??). They got prisoners from Wormwood Scrubs to clear the pitch of snow and they carved out something like "George Groves is innocent" in the centre circle, clearly nobody had looked at the pitch from the stands before kick off or if they had they agreed. Hilarious - I didnt go but watched it on MOTD. Typical we only made the TV then because every other game was off Heee Heee

If there is any adverse weather, it will be called off.

If it does go ahead, I think it will be a chastening day for us, with a nil in the home column. Hope we can turn up, but my perception is they are far more organised than Sunderland who are the one who are more likely to fall away. So likely to be 0-2, but if we tank which I fear we might if Portsmouth score early, could be 0-4, maybe even 0-5.

I think Charlton away when Ron Futchur scored a hat trick to put us 3 up, then he got sent off & we ended up losing 5 v 3 , that would have been in the eighties , whilst Exeter was in the late seventies I think . My prediction for the match is a 2 v 1 win for the reds .

Heart says we’ll win but head says draw.

We're on a bad trot, we've been tanking and powderpuff in that time, if we conceded early, I can envisage the spirit of 17/18 coming to the fore again.

Id be surprised no rain forecast until lunchtime - chance of some snow mixed in the first rain but then going back to rain and warming up later

0-2 based on current form can't see a clean sheet
Really hope I am wrong and the boys put a shift in and start a positive run of results and performances.
    Please prove me wrong.

We have to win today. We haven't won in three and have lost the last two. A win will boost confidence and get us back some of the ground we've lost. It'll be freezing and sleeting during the match with a cold wind. The weather may work in our favour if Portsmouth aren't used to it and they've had a long journey. I've run out of straws now.

We need a reaction today for more than one reason. I'm going 2-1 to the reds.

No idea how Portsmouth play. If they press us and play it down the channels, isolating our fullbacks, or bypassing them and leaving them up field, then it could be a long afternoon. If they play like Rochdale, pretty passing in their own half, then we may stuff them.

Personally think we've more of a chance against a team like Portsmouth who, because of their success this season, may be concentrating on their strengths and ignoring the opposition, than a team who set up to exploit our obvious weaknesses.

Quite direct with fast pacy wingers, I expect Ronan Curtis their left winger to have a field day
