Looks completely shot to pieces. Completely mentally gone. I've been a critic of his over the last 18 months, but I still want him to do well - he's a Barnsley player after all.

But he's completely regressed - look at the bloke who flew down the right wing in August and September and smashed a goal in from the edge of the box.

Hopefully he can regain some form, but for now he needs some time out of the team because he's a liability at the minute.

Edit: bit pissed, so I apologise for the overuse of the word completely.

Mentally gone? He was mentally gone when we signed him. Absolute gash and it's really a disgrace that we didn't bother to sign any cover for him in the summer.

FOr me and it is my opinion I think a few of the players are being asked to do jobs they aren’t comfortable with .
Of course they will say this that or the other in interviews but it doesn’t look to lay very well with them.
I’m all for playing it from the back if players are comfortable with it but imo were not and it’s affecting overall players game.
We outplaying teams and not getting either the result or confidence imo .

In Cavare's case that job is football.

I’m not making a case for him but if you see that why is he still being asked to play out ?

Because we were stupidly short sighted in the summer and decided that the players who had just failed would magically get better so we didn't bother replacing them and in some cases didn't even bother getting any back up for them meaning that now we have to play him or a striker

No I meant if he can’t play in that position why is he being asked to play it out ?
Surely the coaching staff can see what your seeing and instruct Davies to by pass him.
I’m not saying we've got alternatives at present but surely that style of play should be excluded

If you are asking full-backs to attack, you surely need three central defenders, or at least a very good defensive midfielder to drop in between the two centre-backs.

If you don't have either of those things then you have problems if the full-back gets caught high up the pitch.

Agreed. I noticed that he was hardly ever passed to today it was only in emergencies. Brown had the ball given to him far more often. Quite telling about other players confidence in him

I wonder if he he was taken off before he was sent off. He is player with a short fuse and seems to object to being told what he should be doing by the manager. Trouble is Jacob Brown is not a natural defender but we dont seem to have anyone else. However tadays performance was vastly improved and gives rise to more optimistism about getting into playoff places.

TBF he could have been passed to it’s just that the passes will have gone to the opposition .
Our passing is woeful at times, some-games the opposition have more of the ball from our mis passes than their own play.
A captain is needed this jan imo someone to bollock em for sloppy play.
I’ve stated it before and I’ll say it again. no team has bettered us in the games I’ve seen even Sunderland weren’t better than us imo .
Portsmouth were made to look better than they played and they were still unimpressive imo and by their forums it’s been like that all season.
We are lower in the table than we are capable of but one game being dominant and excellent against three games being **** in every four games needs addressing. It’s all well saying we’ve outplayed Sunderland and Portsmouth so don’t complain as some are saying when we’ve only got one point from both games .
Get Doughall back to scratch and a midfield captain and ill be happier

I'm not really surprised his confidence is shot all the criticism, abuse no support its no wonder, we have picked a scapegoat after his sending off against Fulham and finally got him out of the team.
If anyone thinks that players just turn in to bad players overnight or that they just stop trying because they can't be bothered then I think you may be mistaken.
Football is mental as well as physical and that is the problem here.

Interesting post because Brown who came on to replace Cavare the start of the second half made the same number of mistakes if not more in the first 15 minutes of that half yet everyone jumps all over Cavare. Obviously Brown was out of position etc...

We'd just conceded a sloppy goal and it was colder than Siberia. If it had been a reincarnation of Freddie Mercury signing Xmas carols I still wouldn't have given a *****.

Perfect pass for what should have been our first goal. He makes mistakes and has a short fuse but i dont think he's any better or worse than others in the team. Seems to have been put in the scapegoat role for some.
