He doesn't have pace, but his touch & reading of the ball gives him an edge at times. He is one of those players that will take time, but will be a legend, in time, as Stendel knows. At the moment he can be frustrating & brilliant in equal measures. The brilliance is starting to become obvious to me though.
Bahre played well, good on the ball, quick, drives forward, a couple of bad passes but gives his all, cares, a decent player who will get even better.
I thought he had a decent game. Was fading when subbed but showed great skill at times especially first half
He got a standing ovation from all 3 sides of the home crowd stands and thoroughly deserved it. Makes me wonder what some posters on here expect.
I was one of those that gave him standing ovation in that stand. I have been very critical of his performances in a lot of the games he's played but fair doo to the lad today that's the best he has played since he arrived.
Great in a side when we win. Average most weeks and rarely influences a game. Would call him another Moncur but his work rate is a different league to George.
Pretty much everyone in our squad. He's one of the quickest in our team. Granted it doesn't say much when you look at our slow back four but he's always bombing forward on the front foot and that was evident again today.
That's not pace - that's him using his head and positioning himself. In a foot race, he's just average.
Amazing control and skill from Bahre today, especially in the first half. Not sure if he completed more than two passes to a red shirt in the entire 90 minutes though.
The one where he covered a lot of ground, gave 100% effort and gave the ball away a lot. It was Barnsley v Peterborough. And if you think I'm wrong watch the full match replay on the official site, count how many times he gave the ball away and then come back to me. But I know you won't.
No one played badly today but he was worst player pitch. Loads of misplaced passes, too slow and missed some good chances. Just looks poor and not upto it. Im not a moncur fan but he should always play in front of him if there is a choice.....
Me too and I think you'd be surprised. Lat time I spoke about Bahre on here, someone mentioned a stat that he covers more ground, on average, in each game than any other Barnsley player. I found that very surprising, so I watched him closely today. Judging on today's performance I was wrong to doubt that. He put in an astonishing amount of work. He never stopped running and he was everywhere. Herculean effort for which I cannot praise him enough. He also misplaced numerous passes and was caught in possession on a lot of occasions. He did it 5 times in the space of two minutes in the first half. Every time the ball reached him, possession cycled to the opposition. I wouldn't suggest he had a bad game today, because all that running is worth something, it adds to the team. But, like most of our players, as well as his assets, he has flaws, and his major flaw at the moment is losing possession far too often.
Thought he played well today. It’s a bit funny to say he misplaced passes. That applies to pretty much every player in the team. I think it’s just because we try to play a passing game, but some of it drives me up the wall. We’re lucky we don’t get punished more than we do. Incidentally he didn’t get a standing ovation- he got two!! Quite bizarre.
