Spreadsheet sometimes gets it wrong. Even Wiseman had a decent game once a season. ffs, football is about opinions but MOTM? Above Mowatt and Pinnock? Pissholes for eyes.
Bahre isn't actually a guarentee - we just have the option to purchase. Woodrow is already signed, but Bahre is just an option.
His first touch is a lottery, he gives the ball away cheaply, passes team mates into trouble and his only redeeming quality is he runs about a lot. That moment when he ram through with Woodrow summed them both up, one will ge a top drawer striker, one cast into obscurity but in some peoples imagination, a wasted talent. If you watch the League 2 round up on Quest, its littered with players we've had that some on here would have you believe were world beaters. Lets be reight, League 1 standard isnt great, Ivan Toneys looking good. Bahre is bang average L1 standard, marginally above Hedges.
No, I have to reply to this twice...Really???? Better than Harvey Barnes? Ollie McBurnie? What the actual f.ck??
If after Saturday you can’t see what he’s bringing to the table it’s you with pissholes for eyes. The mom award is a popular vote, voted for by fans via twitter or the app. More people thought he was man of the match than anyone else. Of course we were all wrong though were we? He was spectacularly ineffective in his early performances, the penny seems to have dropped for him though.
I thought Mowatt was man of the match of Saturday - he was brilliant for the full 90 minutes, whereas Bahre faded after an outstanding first half. But to say he's ***** is clearly wrong. Yes he's a little inexperienced and does give the ball away at times, but he's technically a very good player. Of course you can criticise him - he should have made it 3-0 in the second half when he was through one on one from Mowatt's pass. But to say he's a bad footballer is basically wrong.
Bähre is a quality player who’s improving each week - he’s a bit like Cauley in that, when he receives the ball, he’s already moving with it - a sign of quality
I think the jury is still very much out on the lad. He is touted as being able to play anywhere across the midfield but this is a misnomer imo. He is not strong enough a tackler to play DM and not blessed with blistering pace to be anything special out wide. He did have his best game for us playing as a no. 10 and for the moment I would like Stendel to let him develop in this position. Certainly on Saturday we saw a glimmer of why Stendel wanted to bring him to Oakwell in the first place.
He’s a young lad who’s come to Barnsley from a different country. New language, new team mates, new league- it’s all got to be a bit overwhelming hasn’t it? Of course it’s going to take him a while to settle down. I don’t think I would’ve had a problem if he hadn’t turned in a really good performance from the start of the season until now, because it’s going to take half a year odd for him to get acclimatised. Far as I’m concerned his performances have gotten better and better since he joined, so I’m excited to see what he’ll be like by the end of the season. Could be like a new signing come the run-in.
And I speak okay French, doesn’t mean it wouldn’t be a massive culture shock if I were to move to a smallish French town and had to work with a totally new group of people there
