Just decided on a fundamental change in my grocery shopping habits. No more Asda, Morrison’s, Tesco or Sainsbury’s - Aldi Barugh Green/Redbrook all the way.

If it’s good enough for Ronnie.......

Bet he’s quicker than anyone over ten yards with that trolley!

His wife is one of the registrars at the town Hall... Lovely lady.... Thought Ronnie lived in Monk Bretton to be honest

I have seen him at the Lidl in Wombwell and several times at the Company Shop up Tankersley.

One of the very best people I've had the company of in terms of the job. Humble, doesn't court attention, but says things how they are. I missed out on seeing him play by a few years, sadly, but still, one of the very few football people I've had to calm myself when around. I recently spent about an hour on the phone with him and was just chatting football, past and present. And trying to convince him to come to a game and let us give him the treatment etc. But he just doesn't want it. He comes to games off his own back, as a fan, under the radar. That's what he likes/wants. I practically begged him to let us introduce him to fans on the pitch, but it's unlikely. Because I'm not falling out with a living legend.

His son is a chip off the old block too. Few months back, they spent over an hour on the Ponty concourse taking in the Mural that Ben Mosley did. He looked genuinely proud, and historically clued up. Knew the club's history from start to finish.

Redders was the legend of my era, and I like him a lot. Again, you feel you're in the presence of someone special. But Ronnie is something else.

He's in the Hall Of Fame at Celtic, Partick and Barnsley. Says it all.

    Happy New Year.

Why do you feel the need to be insulting?? I am sure of three things:
    1. I have no idea where ronnie glavin has lived - I only thought he was a brilliant footballer, arguably the best we've had, Where excactly is here?? I take it from your name you mean Dodworth?? I've not spent the last forty years stalking him
    2. I am not six
    3. Nothing you could do or say would ever shock me
