I vaguely remember those exec boxes going in at Kenilworth Road. I think they were meant to be a temporary structure. Must be 40 years or so
But they are MASSIVE now according to their fans and are waiting to move to a million-seater new ground.
Had abrentford fan in my cab last night. He said that they r going to move to a new stadium and sell griffin park.
I'm sure those boxes were connected with hockey. Was it a national centre when they had an all weather pitch?
Are you confusing it with MK Dons's original home? That was the National Hockey Centre and a pretty crap football ground which I visited on opening day of a season when we first enjoyed the delights of Barry Conlon up front. You could be right about Kenilworth Road though - they had a plastic pitch for a while.
I remember going there quite a few years ago, we were singing to the tune of when the saints go marching in; I`ve got a shed as big as this I`ve got a shed as big as this It`s got a door and a window I`ve got a shed as big as this
That was the side of the ground demolished by Millwall in the mid-80s. It was a normal all-seater stand then.
Yep i think you're right. Definately was the stand that Millwall 'wrecked'. So i would guess it was pulled down some time after 85.
The ground they are moving to doesn't look good either.... http://www.stadiumguide.com/new-luton-town-stadium/ Stands of all different sizes and corners not filled in to protect you from the elements.
