Not sure how selling our best creative midfielder chimes with "stabilising in the Championship". I can't work out what the owners are about and I can't see myself returning to Oakwell until I can be confident they have any real ambition to improve things. The fans are being short-changed, in my humble opinion.

New owners but same old story. A club that lacks real ambition and is only too ready to sell players to anyone who comes up with the cash even if it is determental to its league ambitions. Just getting over the exodus of key players in 2017, relegation and now showing signs of possible promotion and guess what we do.... Repeat the same thing again. Let's hope Potts is the only one to go... .. Don't hold you breath. Barnsley fc would sell their grandmother if someone offered the right money. Nothing they have done over the years has changed on that one.

Have you been enjoying the season so far? Not sure I’d describe it as being short changed.

Also I would disagree about Brad being our most creative midfielder, but he was a vital player. As was Bradshaw. And hope we replace with better.

Let’s wait and see what January brings. I’m also curious as to what they intend to do, but so far have enjoyed this season. Definitely not short changed. Very odd comment in my opinion.

I’m not one to usually be that bothered by players leaving or arriving. We move on and keep supporting. However I’m as pissed off as a pissing pot with Pottsy’s departure. Mainly because I’ve always felt that we have a better chance of scoring when he’s on the pitch. He is so positive and progressive in his approach. Very difficult for me to see us picking up such an influential player in this window.
Hope we still have enough to challenge this season.

I know I made a lot of fuss about 01/17.
But the reason I did it - is because I understand what is being said here.
We can’t go through all this again.

These event live long in the memory of supporters.
It’s extremely damaging to the club.
Years down the line you meet people that say something on the lines of ....... no I stopped going to the matches at Oakwell because of ******* *******.’
I hope this isn’t going to turn into one of those events.

We didn't put McIndoe up for sale....he got tapped up by Wolves ( or perhaps the other way round)..and out of the blue walked in to Andy Ritchie's office...and allegedly said " Michael McIndoe is signing for Wolves"....whereupon our great benefactor super Mick McCarthy fixed him up....the lad was a complete ars***le by all accounts.

Yes I'm starting to feel that way again like I did in Jan 17 and the following summer when it was painful obvious we were lining ourselves up for relegation. See how the rest of this month goes no need to decide anything yet. But if we sabotage our own promotion attempt then I will have to consider my season ticket options.
    Let's see what happens.

Potts was a good player for us both this and last season however, we’ve been crying out for a decent winger all season and this might be the room that creates the opportunity to get one. The fee is above 1.5 million and not bang on 1.5 million so this should give us some leverage in getting a decent replacement.
I was cheesed off when we ditched Bradshaw and got Woodrow in as I saw tiny tom as the focal point of how the team played. Now, I’m ruing the fact that Woodrow was immediately injured as I think this has cost us a top 2 place.
I don’t know who Potts replacement will be but at the minute the sky hasn’t fallen down.

Yes l’m beginning to wonder what the point is. I had hopes of emerging from this window stronger on Feb 01 than we were on Dec 31. The club has crossed the Rubicon as far as I am concerned and have a lot to do to get me back on side.

I think it all depends how you view things, occook. I'm pleasantly surprised at how well the team have done thus far. But I think we have shortcomings which preclude promotion this season being inevitable. So those who continue to attend are watching a lower grade of football for a higher price. I'm not sure who you'd put up as being on a par with Brad for midfield creativity? I agree that we need to see what other business is done this month, but the omens thus far suggest that the owners are disinclined to use their financial muscle to bolster the squad's prospects of promotion. The club is debt-free, and is well able to invest to enhance the chances of doubling our revenue in the Championship. But sales of the better players will increase the temptation of our other leading lights to seek out better prospects elsewhere - just as has happened in the past.
